wand or staff, ? Options

Well I prefer a Wand it is easier to wield. in some forms of the craft the staff is used as grounding tool i.e. Scotish witchcragft often uses a staff this way. However the wand is always a repsentation of your own true will.

This is the way I typically use my staff. I also have a wand and look at their uses in ritual as similar, but different. The staff I use for grounding and earthing unused energy. Also, I will use it as a conduit of earth energy to supply me in ritual. The wand I use mostly to direct and manipulate energy as one would with the athame. It also functions as a meditation focal point in some rituals. Just my 2 cents. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Does anyone know a tradition of consacrating a staff in ceremonial magic...?
Ussualy I did not find a staff being used in ceremonial magic...so if anyone knows atradition,and a ritual would he/she please share it?

Elemental tools of the western tradition aside, there is indeed a difference between the wand and staff. The staff is usually used as a manifestation of the magickian/priest/witch's Will, while the wand is often times used to conjure forth energy, spirits, and other forces.

What if I have a staff and a wand?? But my staff is something I use to gather herbs with. It has like a knife at the top, the I can pull out to cut the leaves flowers etc with.
