In the spirit of giving Options

Once again christmas is upon us. Some of you may already know that I decided to 'opt out' of the consumerfest this year and letmy family and friends know that I would not be sending of accepting gifts this year. Instead I decided to use the money I would have spend on presents to try and do something of more value than socks for uncle bob (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So with the money I would have spent I managed to...

Provide 400 school dinners
Kit out 5 students
Provide safe drinking water for 50 people
Plant a market garden
Help stop violence against women

... all via the Oxfam Unwrapped website.

In these cynical times it is all too easy to give up hope rather than do the one thing each day that you can to help make the world a better place for everyone to live. So please reply here with what you are doing this christmas in the spirit of giving (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm giving away money to a 'help animals foundation' in sweden.

I thought long and hard about it and decided that it's better to put all the 'give away money' into one fund since it'll be too small otherwise and i also decided that i care a hell of alot more about the animals of the earth rather than the humans.
