Why do you think it would be a strong combo?
The Buddhist magickal path, or vajrayana, is not considered seperate from the mahayana path, meaning that the fundamental teachings of selfless compassion, altruism, and patience are taken to another level with tantric practice. One works tirelessly to achieve enlightenment not for one's own sake, but for the sake of all sentient beings.
Now, no offense, but from what I know, the entities from the Necronomicon are not exactly altruistic nor do they generate any kind of compassion. The wraithful and terrifying deities in the Buddhist pantheon are terrible in appearance, but they are enlightened beings; their motivation is out of selfless compassion (since they have realized the illusion of selfhood), and their activity is aimed at awakening the individual from ignorance.
I mean no criticism, but I see no relation or brotherhood between the two paths. Maybe there's just something I'm missing here though.
