Hi Night,
I have a considerable amount of imformation on chakra's. The word is sanskrit for spinning wheel (if you did not already know this). The chakra's are situated in the etheric body and will resonate at different vibrations but are connected and affected by all the bodies- that is the physical, etheric ,emotional, mental, casual and spiritual. These energy centres will be either opened or closed and flow one way or another - this will be dependant on our experiences or state of being at that particular time.
I have always used a combination of meditation, visualisation and crystals for particular activations and strengthening of the chakra's. You can also use colour to correspond with those that you are working with to strengthen. I have found the most simple technique to work with is a meditation consisting of firstly running my hand through my etheric body, starting from just above my head downwards to my feet to ensure they are open. I then meditate and see them spinning (you can also use a pendulum to ascertain the direction that each spin for you, prior to doing this if you are unsure). I associate the relevant colours with each and move through the seven main chakra's if I am doing a basic exercise. I always start with the root and work my way up to the crown. I would suggest as a beginner that you work with the seven main chakra's to begin with. If I am feeling pain or a particular block in any one area I will place a crystal on that particular chakra to help it clear the blockage or draw in a the corresponding colour from my etheric surroundings. Once I am finished I will ensure that my chakra's are closed by running my hand up through my etheric body in the opposite direction to the way you opened them. I can not stress enough how important it is you close them, especially if you are heading out afterward. If you would like more specific information or would like to work with a particular area and I will be only too happy to share and give you some tips. Hope this has helped as a starting point (IMG:
