I have two cats, one of them doesn't like the rituals at all, if its the energies/whatever or the vibration of the words she doesn't like i don't know, but she makes sure to leave as soon as i begin.
The other doesn't care at all, she can strutt about, lay and watch me or even walk up and cuddle my leg.
Now, i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about implications or repurcussions about she entering my circle whenever she feels like it (Be it banish or invocation or whatever)

Cause & Effect?

Thank you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sweatdrop.gif)

What a quincedence, I applied to adopt a cat today,

But one thing's for sure when I get her I will never let her enter my room when I perform rituals. Not only will that disturbe me but it might be dangerous for the cat. I read this article in which a magician did an evocation of a goetic entity in a triangle of the art which had a few hairs of his dog. The entity ended up doing what the magician asked at the expense of also killing his dog.

So I don't think you should allow your cats to be around your ritual area. If you just biult a circle and they cross it they will hit the energy walls and could get hurt.

As for why one is afraid and the other is not, it could be that one is more sensitive to energy than the other or mabye that one hates the vibration like how all cats hate the vacum and the other doesn't mind perhaps because its more dominant.

I haven't done anything serious where they could walk in so i'm not worried right now but if i ever do more "powerfull" stuff i'd have to agree i guess, I need a bigger flat! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif)

Personally, I would be less concerned with dubitable anecdotes, and more concerned with them serving as a distraction in general, I would recommend just shutting them up in a separate room during your ritual work if at all possible.

My wife bought our cat Isis 7 months ago on Friday the 13th.

Isis sometimes gets excited when I do ritual. She knows when I am about to feed my Bandar and loves to watch. Bandar scared her pretty bad the first time they met but now the kitty kat and the spirit really seem to like each other.

I would never shut my cat up somewhere or put her in another room. The question should not be whether or not your pet will disturb the ritual but really will your cat disturb you in your ritual? As long as no matter what the pet does bothers you in your mind then your magick has not in any way been affected.

Another thing to consider. Cats have two feet in the physical world and two feet in the spiritual world. That is why they make such wonderful familiars. A cat is much much much more likely to aid you in magick than to help you no matter what you may be doing.

So I say let kitty do whatever he or she wants to. If the cat wants to help let it.

Although it is a bit annoying when Isis decides to lay down on top of my Tarot spread while I am reading cards.

I would not have named her after a Goddess if I had not planned to use her in magick. So I take it s a compliment that kitty is so interested in what I am doing. I suppose she feels the increase in energy etc. Probably something simular is why your kitty is trying to get involved. If anything you should take it as a sign that you are doing something right.

Peace

For awhile I was practicing shpaeshifting, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/horse.gif)

I had a pet parakeet that I would bring into my ritual area, during my LBRP usually the bird would act up a bit, but I remember I found that when I vibrated one of the God Names (I can't remember which one now?) the bird would calm. Bringing the bird into my space made the bird much more easy to work with as a familiar. It seemed to sort of speed up the process, my other birds were much more difficult to work with than this one. Also remember that I had to keep vibrating the God Name to keep the bird calm, I'm not sure if a was "in tune" with the bird or something. After a few minutes I would slowly vibrate softer and softer, until I stoped. I could then work with the bird.

Birds are poweful creatures. As they fly they pass through the veil according to shamanistic teaching. Birds are wonderful omens. The nature of the sign good or bad depends on the behavior of the bird.

The only birds that I know of which can act as familiars are Crows, Hawks and Owls. I am sure that I am being short sighted here these are the only 3 I have ever heard of.

It does sound like you have some connection going on with the bird and LBRP.

I was practicing, trying to "get the hang of it" so they say, getting used to using animals as familiars, ect...But I could see through the birds eyes and fly around ect... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused012.gif)

I'm not sure if that counts as shapeshifting? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused012.gif)

some years ago while i had cats it was interesting to observe how they react to certain types of working. i also had cat named Isis, but that one never was interested too much in magick, she would only ocasionaly try sitting on me while i do pranayama or meditate on chakra(little vampire she was), then there was brilliant Sekmeth, she would sit outside circle and observe everything closely, she was very atached to me, most of time she would sit on my shoulders or in lap, but she never inerupted one ritual, helped me more than few times during dreaming...
i read somwhere about that incident with dog...theres one thing essential in practise of magick in my oppinion, its importance is equal to regular banishings, vacuuming. and i doubt really that ritual practise could harm cat, they are subtile and sensitive creatures, they know if somethings not good for them. but dont force your cat in triangle of mainifestation please.
if cat doesnt distrupt your working, you should leave her doing whatever she does...although imagine tripping over, or stepping on cat while working...

Cats and dogs seem to be able to enter or leave a circle without putting a hole in it. Ouur HP has a cat and a dog. The dog alwauys joins ritual. We call him Hecate's Hound. He sits quietly in the east corner. Sometimes he adds energy to the ritual, and other times sucks it up, but not in large amounts. The cat tends to hide when we begin a ritual, but she is skittish at the best of times. It likely isn't the energy of the circle as much as the number of people in the rooms that freaks her out. Neither are a bother in any case.

Well it appears that is a question of beeing abble to stay focus at the working and not the cat...
then the cats seem to absorb negative energies and transmute them in to good and the doogs seem to feel the negative and positive energies acting normally(runing from evil and stayng for good)
Probably that's why the cats were always the pets of the wiches....

Got to say this is a very interesting subject. My cat seems to participate in my rituals, he will meow if I seem to do something wrong, and sometimes he sits next to me while doing a ritual like hes helping. He doesn't bother me. As for my dog she just lays and watches.
