Well I recently scored a wolf skull from a frend of mine who had one that romed his ranch. Anyone have any ideans of practical use for such an item other than a juju?
Wolf skull, good stuff!! I'm not sure entirely. I have a coyote skull that I painted and I keep it opposite of my window in my "work" area. A buffalo skull at the top of the stairs (whom my husband named Dave LOL), since this house we moved into has a nasty vibe that seems to coagulate at the bottom of the stairs and it helps to keep it down stairs. And a few deer and fox skulls I haven't appointed any duties to.
You could use it to store an artificial elemental, or use it's animal correspondences to appoint it a job, or you could figure out how to use it in ceremony (I use a bear rib for a wand...I've had some good results with this).
Living in Northern Wisconsin it's quite common to come across animal parts LOL! My friends have a habit of painting thier skulls, I'm not sure if you'd want to do this with such a rare piece. Honestly, having it on your altar might be enough to collect some great energies and help raise power (I used to have a stuffed crow I named artemis that sat on my altar.). Working with stuff like that is great, and I've always had positive experiences when I employ bit of fur, bone, teeth or claws. They do work great as fetishes, amulets and Talismans though.
Another thing that might be helpful is using it as a place holder for talismans. I do this with my buffalo skull. Since it's such a large piece (and my friend painted a beautiful picture of a buffalo on it) it attracts a lot of attention. So, when creating amulets or talismans that either want to attract or repel something from people (as in repeling negativity) I hide an object within the skull. The eye works great, but on a smaller piece people would see it. So stuffing it into the neck opening in the back would work great. Just make sure it's small enough to get out.
Hope that helps a bit. I know it isn't a lot, and might not be what you're looking for, but it's what i do with the skulls I have.(IMG:
