The Softclix® lancing device is the most sophisticated finger stick device on the market today. It's also the most expensive. Relying on a unique lancet design and precise lancet motion, the Softclix is guaranteed by the manufacturer to be the most comfortable lancet device you've ever used, or your money back.

The Softclix is quite a substantial instrument compared to other lancing devices. Even in it's newer, trimmer size, it still feels sturdier than some other lancing devices, imparting the sense that it's a rugged and durable product. The Softclix weighs about half an ounce, essentially the same as other lancing devices. At 4 1/4 inches long, it is a bit shorter than others though. By comparison, the BD Lancet Device is 5 1/8 inches, the auto-Lancet Adjustable is 4 7/8 inches, and ONE TOUCH UltraSoft is 4 5/8 inches.

The slot into which the special Softclix lancet is loaded is much sturdier than the lancet holding parts of some other lancing devices (with the exception of devices using XL style lancets). If you've ever had that part break on your current lancing device, you won't have to worry about that with the Softclix.

To use the Softclix, you pull the cap off, insert the special Softclix lancet into the lancet holder, twist off the lancet's protective cover, and then push the cap back on. The cap has to be aligned in a certain way to be pushed back on, which takes just a little getting used to. Holding the base of the cap, you then adjust the depth of penetration by twisting the tip of the cap. The numbers at the end indicate the depth of penetration. There are 11 depth settings. To cock the device, press the button on the end until it clicks. At this point, the release button changes from clear to yellow, raises up slightly, and is ready to be pressed. The release button requires 14 ounces of pressure to trigger. By comparison, the BD Lancet Device triggers at 6 ounces, and the auto-Lancet Adjustable triggers at 4 ounces. If the sample is insufficient, you can dial a greater depth, recock, and try again. After use, you pull of the top, pull on the lancet ejector sleeve, and the lancet drops out of the lancet holder. Overall, the Softclix is very easy to use.

The Softclix lancing device and lancets may be more comfortable than traditional lancing devices and lancets. However, its lancets cost about 50% more than the next most expensive lancets (the BD Ultra-Fine). Irrespective of price, the Softclix lancing device is easy to use, small, and lightweight and can easily be used by kids of all ages.

I've tried several of the lancets and they are all about the same, none are really comfortable regardless what they say. Absolutly choose one with depth settings but several have that option that are a cheaper choice. Just my thoughts...

It's a spring loaded needle. You hold it up against your skin and push the button and the spring drives the needle into your skin making you bleed.

Diabetics use it to check their blood sugar. My mother has a pretty nice one actually. The depth settings are nice on them too. But, if you have a thick skin (no pun intended) you won't be able to draw blood as easily unless you use the deeper settings. But, it's actually not that painful and rather quick about it.

Well, I bought it to get blood safely for magickal purpose. It's almost painless and you'll just have to squeeze a bit to get more blood out from the very tiny hole it made (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif)

Its nice to know Im not the only one who uses my own blood in rituals.
I think its a magnificant idea! Mostly I use my blood for calling on my
ancestors, or something to do with them, as well as put it in my own
concotion, my personal "juju" powder to charge candles, annointings, etc.

Because if you use only a needle by hand then you may prick too deeply and hurt yourself. With the spring loaded lancet (I owned the above softclix) it has 5 sets of penetration depth adjustment(depending your skin type/how much blood you need), it's extremely easy to use (it looks and works like a spring loaded pen) and a lot more safer.

Diabetics use it to check their blood sugar.

Thank God for diabetics. If it wasn't for them, lancets probably genuinely wouldn't have any use other than for aiding misguided individuals such as ourselves in rituals...and how then would we justify owning them in polite society? You can just picture your mother coming over for afternoon tea, when you've mistakenly left your lancets on the kitchen bench rather than putting them back down in the basement.

They really love blood. It's a fairly good arrangement, really...I give them blood, they give me money. It's sort of like the IRS, except in reverse. Actually, the primary God that I've started worshipping recently really enjoys blood, too...so I tend to need a fair amount of it on hand, these days. I've been eating a lot more red meat...need to keep the iron intake up."

You said this was sarcastic. There is nothing sarcastic about that. Its fucking factual because demons do love blood and so do some Dark Gods.
