With Pluto out there for a while, now Xena & other 'planets' about to be made official, I'm suprised I haven't come across anything on someone who experimented with trying to evoke the intelligences of these 'planets'. Hell, if our moon is a planet, what about the moons on other planets & their intelligences? Hasn't anyone tried to, or thought about trying to evoke these spirits?

Excellent question. Also, if these celestial bodies are classified as planets, will it change the Zodiac?

I've studied the question (IMG:style_emoticons/default/book.gif)
And here are some answers:

The new planet Ceres(the old asteroid ceres) wil goverd either taurus or Virgo
Xena will govern Libra

about the inteligences-i think that can be evoked on the actual name of Ceres and Xena and then ask them to find out the secret names...allthough I hope I will not kill Lucy Lawless when i evoke Xena...and again it will probably be hard cause it is a extraplutonian planet!

lol! See, I ask what's up with the other planets & what happens? I find out in the news that pluto has been officially stripped of its 'planet' status.. Here I am thinking we're going to have to memorize more planets, & they boot one out..Ah well.

Astrologers and scientists don't necessarily have to agree. I did some research and decided for myself that Pluto and Xena should be considered as planets. All of the other trans-Neptunian objects are considerably smaller. The moons of other planets are always with those planets so they'd have to be considered as part and parcel of the planet, since say if Jupiter is in 22 degrees Virgo (just as an example), its moons would be also. I think that Xena should probably be assigned to Libra and I have this personal theory that the entire asteroid belt ought to be attrubuted to Virgo. With Virgo's orientation to detail, what's more detailed than thousands of little rocks?

I think Xena was a stupid name to call a planet, especially since it was named after a fictional character. Krypton would have been a better name, but geez what were those nerds thinking. I heard they're calling it Eris now, which I think is a bit more appropriate, considering.

It's probably not for me to say, but in terms of astrology, why would anything change? Just because we discover something new and decide to stick the term planet on them doesn't mean they're now going to have a more significant impact on the universe. The realization is new, but the affect is not. I think I'm confusing people.

On the contrary, awareness of new planets, and the process of elucidating their impact on our astrological composition reflects an expanding awareness in mankind. As though aspects of our subconscious are become more a part of our regular consciousness. Although, I do agree that Xena was a kind of geeky choice of name for it.... where did Xena (the name) come from, BTW? I am lazy in asking, but if I find the answer before anyone else answers it here, I'll post it myself.

Pluto being stripped of the planet title seems like one of those pointless affairs - why not call it a planet? - purely a matter of orginization. Still, death is a kind of non-entity entity in life - the void that defines the container, if you will. So, for it to no longer be a planet, but still define us in it's own significance as the planet ruling or representing death, seems appropriate to me.

It's been a while since there were new astrological components, maybe i'm just one of those goofy astro-geeks, but I find it all very exciting. And the timing, you have to admit, is pretty rad as well - creeping closer to 2012, the supposed ascension date(/apocolypse/epoch/new age), the end of the mayan clanendar that has some kind of significance - it falls in line with the obvious shift in human consciousness already taking place.

I wonder what the new planets will govern? It would have to be aspects of our consciousness not previously recognized as part and parcel to the human condition...

So much fun!

peace

Its tuff luck if your a scorpio and one of you main planets Pluto is not a planet anymore.
The main thing is that the planets corrospond to the Kabbala and its workable like that.

It has been done to a degree. Oaths prevent me from saying much more on the subject other than being unable to recommend it!
