Blessings and peace,
May this note find all beings well and happy and free form suffering!
i have been playing an amazing game. it is by a british adept who gives a spectrum of ideas and concepts for advancing on the path. i cannot recomend this program highly enough. you can have at your fingertips the tool which israel regardie said, "the playing of this game resumes the whole philosophy of Magick." The Golden Dawn, vol X.
Modsquad - URL removed. The game is available from various eBay sellers. and if you use other rules than the author has given it can be played mannualy as well, but i have found no conflict in the playing against what is published. the texts he provides alone are worth more than the price of the program.
to ask the maker any questions his email is
[email protected] there is also a yahoo group for enochian chess which he runs at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/000-EnochianChess/sorry, i am not trying to sound like a comercial, LOL !
many blessings and peace profound,
Fr. Setna AnkhSenIsha
Modsquad note - I want to see this thread develop a bit. Please post your experiences of playing the game and how it has helped your work with the Enochian system. I have attched a file to this thread that people may (or may not) find interesting. - Mediocracy
thank you mediocracy, the file is excelent as far as the instruction for play. also this site;
http://www.chessvariants.org/historic.dir/enochian.htmlgives nice and clear instruction with color illustrations explaining the concepts as well.
i begin my session by performing LBRP, LBRH, and Egyptian MP. a question is asked and there is a short ritual suggestion which is given to aid in creating the magickal link. part of the magick in this game is the "formula" of the question, the more specific the question, the more detail gained in the answer.
one of the four element boards is chosen by the nature of the question. this forces placement of any inquiry into the element to which it belongs. then the sub element is chosen for the specific force. and then the actual element peices are sub sub elements, which include spirit. sub sub sub elements are also embodied in the pawns. as you can see the forces at play can be interpeted very specifically as you come to understand the system. the computer game gives pointer to help guide you through the process. the deeper your understanding of the elements may give you a slightly different interpetation and so the text is a a useful guide. then a specific type of working is chosen from a list. this influences the placement of the ptah peice.
when i have asked question i notice how the first few moves give a symbolic representation of how the forces have been unfolding. this is useful in seeing how the sub elements have been playing in secret. by noting which peices are moved of which element and relating the peices to people, forces, events, etc. it is possible to gain a very detailed understanding of action. more towards the middle moves of the game i have noted seems to correspond with what is happening at present, and then the future can actually be predicted from the ending of the play. of course which part is beginning middle or end is not clear until play is complete, and even then it may not fit perfectly. also as the method is used more and more, calling upon the appropriate spirits, and employint he specific forces, it becomes increasingly unclear as to whether the play is predicting or creating.
i asked about a business deal that has been in the works for months and is now taking off rather well. because of the roll of the dice i was immobile for the first part of the play, the first several moves, the opponets were moving rapidly and began to attack each other, then all players were stuck for two rounds. this actually corresponded to events that had just occured within the past month. then, correspond to the more rescent events i was able to make much progress, and take alot of peices with little effort. by the end of play, when my king was on ptah, no one was able to move at all and i was victorious. it will be interesting to see how this actually unfolds.
one of the things that i appreciate is that with each move there is a commentary screen that gives a suggested interpetation and details which forces are at play. this can be individual and game summery. it takes longer to read each text while playing but also trains you to recognise the forces.
