Good Time?, New Moon Tonight. Options

Hi Smasher666, Ashnook, and fellow Simonocomologists (damn long name (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )

Tonight is the night of the new moon. I read somewhere that its best to cast spells or utilize the Nec. around 3AM any given night. Will I have better results during a new moon rather than a full moon? I only ask because I believe I read in most magical systems that the dark moon (totally waxed) was a time for negative magic effects. So If I were to use the Urilla text, now would be the time. But since I'm actually going to use the 50 names will they be more or less effective tonight?

Yes tonight is the new moon. Although U could probably count the 23rd too because it will be as waxed on its right side as it is on its left side right now which is not very much. Sometime tonight will be the exact new moon. Ashnook says that the Navy says the new moon is at 7:10 pm on the 23rd. However under the spirit of the Sumerians the day before and day after can also be counted as the new or Full moon.

The new moon is a great time to call the scorpion man. He teaches about the gates. But be warned if the scorpion woman comes she must be banished. Her kiss is the kiss of death. Her embrace is the embrace of death. It takes some intenstinal fortitude to call the Scorpion Man for the first time. He often comes on the sound of thunder.

To call him U must wait until 3:00 am.
Sit in completely black room. No light. Cover the windows. Cover the doors. Turn out all lights. Not even a clock light should be on.

The Scorpion man will come. The Scorpion woman has never appeared to me. I only speak of her to reiterate the Mad Arabs warning.

Ask the Scorpion man in the name of Enki and Marduk masters of magick to help you with the gates and to protect you from the dark forces.

Then light a candle or perform the Aga Mass Ssaratu for the Scorpion. Just burn the bread or light a candle with his sigil on it. Burn some incense.

The new moon is an excellent time to work magick. The new moon is for beginnings. The Full moon is for Gate Walking.

Actually Smasher I was going to use the spellbook method to commun with Hegal to cast a spell. I'll do it either tomorrow night at 3am or the one following because that'll be my weekend. But truth be known I'd like to just stay with the Great 50. Did you ever call on him during the day using the spellbook method? I read somewhere that some of the 50 don't particuraly like to come using that method preferring the Necronomicom method instead, but my bowl isn't ready and I have no other tools save the candles so the spellbook is the only method I can use at the moment. Was Hegal one of those that didn't respond well to this method? If so how can I improve my chances of success? I have a lot of questions but I figure I should help keep this forum going by asking them here rather than PMing you guys.

Well I think that if anyone fails with the spellbook method it is because their will was not strong enough. At least for me the 50 come easily with the Spellbook method. Alot of people fear the 50 and it is not surprising that they get bad results in that frame of mind. Give a nice sacrifice and even if U call a Goetic demon U will not have much to worry about. Fearing a spirit is the worst thing U can do. If U fear a spirit then it gives that spirit power over U.

I figured I would throw this bit of information out there--considering you all would be the most likely people to appreciate it. I t appears that the planet Neptune is (from the vantage point of Earth) w/i the constellation of Capricorn. What does that mean you say? It means the planet of ENKI is in the constellation of ENKI--which would lead one to believe there is a significant influence of the Master at the present time. Just wanted to say so.

My understanding is that the days of the moon count from the new moon, that is
the first day is when the moon crecent is first visible at sunset after
the new moon (totally dark). I have not done any incantations since I
figure the new moon was on Sept 22, and the 13th of the moon will be on
Oct 5th when I'll start the moon of purification, and then attempt the
Nanna gate on the next 13th on Nov 4th.

1) Do I have my dates right?

I did not think I could call on the 50 names until I read some posts
on the sacred-magic forum, so I have started to meditate on the
BARASHU...? sigil.

2) Does one need a circle and invokation to obtain tangible results?
Would a member of the 50 appear in visible form?
Or do I need to 'sleep' or pass out in the cricle first and see them in the astral plane??

No. The first day is the New or black moon. The 13th day is the fullmoon. November 6th this month. ALthough U could suceed on the 5th or 7th as well. The SUmerians viewed the full moon as a 3 day period and I and others have had sucess the day befor and after. Of course the 6th would be the ideal day.

Fug the circle. And do not use a circle around the sigil either. The spirit can not fully manifest if you do use a circle. It is a blind.
