Can Anyone Help Me Understand This Dream? Options

Last night, I saw a disturbing dream. What I saw was not scary or shaky in the least, but I had a strange feeling when I woke up, which I still can't shake off. Its as if what I saw is of great importance and I don't understand what it is?

i saw that I am on a visit to someone's place and I am speaking generally with them, although I don't recognise these people, I feel that I know them. Now, I feel that at least one of them was my Mom, who was visiting these people with me. When we left and came out of the house it was a place I noticed that I have never been to, or seen anywhere ! what's amazing is that I realised this in my dream itself.
It was a ground floor ( flat , I think ) of a Flag stoned building bearing the number " 1049 " on a brass plate which was not too shiny, meaning it wasn't new. And just as I was coming out, the lady with me ( assumming it was my Mom )said to me these amazing words.
" don't you think that someone you have been looking for is inside there and you didn't even pay attention to him !!Do you really want him to be lost forever again? "

And just as I was shaking my head to say no, she gestured me to go back inside, and that is when I saw this man, looking at me , from a closed porch kind of landing out side this building. He looked as if he was waiting there for a long time with no impatience on his face, with an apologetic expression as it was somehow his fault that I hadn*'t noticed him before .This man seemd so familiar to me, but I swear I have never in real life laid my eyes on someone even remotely like him.
"who is he?" was what I thought immediately.
"was he some avatar or guru who was there to guide me?"
"or was he my soulmate?"

Another thing that strikes me now is that he was wearing acap in beige corduroy, the kind retired army men wear, although he seemed very young. This cap was almost identical to what father wore a lot , when he was alive.Yet he didn't resemble my father at all.

When I saw him, I knew that he was there for me,certainly, but why? Why was he waiting for me?
I knew then and I know now that this person was definately someone important for me, and I think he knew it too!! coz when our eyes met, he smiled indulgingly at me, turned and went back inside the building,leaving me to stare at the door and at the number plate "1049" outside the building.

Although the supense is killing me but I would have to wait for this mystery to unfold on its own.
I plan to meditate on this. Please give me your ideas or insights if any.

Journeying in a dream generally represents a journey in your waking life too - whether it be a physical journey or a spiritual one or even a change of job/ where you live etc etc. The fact that you didn't know the people you were visiting but that they felt familiar to you tells me that the journey will be fortuitous - delving into the unknown in this case will have its benefits.
Dreaming of our mothers represent the nurturing and caring side in us and as you felt she was with you on your visit I can affirm that your waking journey will once again be beneficial to you.

Because you related the cap the man was wearing to one similar that your dad would wear tells me that this man represents the characteristics of a father figure. Strength, courage, safety.
I think these are the obstacles that you have to overcome in your life at the moment in order to progress on your journey.
This is confirmed beacause you say that you knew he was waiting for you.

Thanks for your pround analysis, but I don't think I can relate to this number at all. No, even after juggling my mind and memories, I can't relate to it. What was amazing was that the person I saw was definately not my father, but I had this strong feeling that I knew him.

What you say about forthcoming journey in life is true some how, as I have recently started my quest to who I am, and started reasearching various energy forms. I find a great liking for spellwork and witchcraft but I can't even imagine hurting anyone so I think I will not follow this path, which inevitably leads to hurt to someone or the other.

I am trying Reiki and Kundalini energy and I find peace there. But my heart urges me to keep reading about witchcraft.
