Hi, Bym ~

I was wondering what Ashnook & Co. were up to over here...
Y'all have done wonders with the place!

We may very well have met at one or the other of Herman's
stores, he kept a great shelf.

As it happens, I currently live right around the corner from
where Herman grew up in New Paltz, NY.

Thanks for your welcome!

Well met Mr. Caigan! Hope you enjoy the forums. I do have a couple of question regarding a few symbols if you have the time.

Hi, Ashnook!

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it - this place is *vast*!

What symbols do you have in mind?

Hi, Angalor ~

Thanks for your Welcome!

We are pretty much packed up for our move right
now, and I'm really missing my painting gear. Still
turn out the occasional bit of digital work, though.
AnimePaper just accepted one of my submissions,
which can be viewed here:

*STARRY WISDOM*
http://tinyurl.com/z6r6e

Membership in the AnimePaper Community is required
in order to download their images in a larger format,
but I see that the Moderators were kind enough to
include the link to the *enormous* and original
image on my own site:

http://tinyurl.com/oatfd

Perhaps you could point me toward some of your
work that is available online(?)

Sure, although I'm in the middle of making "my own site", but I have an online gallery at deviant art. Here's a few that I've done over the years...

Cheyenne Warrior

The Amazon (sorry, you have to be 18 to see this..deviant art is REALLY strict about nudity..even nipples..LOL)

Angalor (this is my 'muse' and where I get my name. Met him in a meditation and he's been sort of a confidant to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) )

The oakman (actually this is in the coffee shop of sacred magick somewhere LOL)

The rest is really old..like..3-4 years old! I haven't posted any of my new work, well actually on my profile I did. This one I did about a year ago. LOL..man, I'm REALLY not up to date on posting my artwork! Talk about embarrassing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif)

Starry wisdom is rather cool looking! It took me quite a while to get a hang of digital art, but once I did it's a great asset in becoming an artist in this day and age. Seems like not many people want the traditional artist anymore.

Hi, Angalor ~

I don't think that there is any question but that digital
art is a great way to go for any work that you intend
to *reproduce*. Photographing my paintings, and then
scanning and calibrating the output for a printer is
often disappointing for me, and I end up doing a lot of
'postwork' in PhotoShop anyway.

And if you have any interest in preparing your work
for 2-D or 3-D animation, sketching and painting
with digital art software can be a big help there, too.

But I don't believe for one minute that traditional art
is obsolete. I work in tempera and oils, and there are
several communities that I can recommend:

The Society of Tempera Painters
http://www.eggtempera.com/

Art Renewal Center
http://www.artrenewal.org/

Society for the Art of the Imagination
http://www.artofimagination.org/

WetCanvas
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/

Cennini Forum
http://forums.studioproducts.com/

ArtPapa Forums
http://www.artpapa.com/forums/

I enjoy your work very much! Thank you so much
for sharing it with me. I am looking forward to
your new site going up.

Bah! No, I don't either...that's mostly my frustration talking. I had spend a LONG time being "yanked" around by companies who hmm and haw and then want what I do for free! Then I look else where and am met with "guidelines" that tell me i have to have a BS along with knowledge of several different software packages, mac knowledge and so on. LOL, reading them I think they want a web designer or someone who can do multi-media instead of an illustrator/artist.

Thanks for the links! I'm actually really interested in the Society of Tempra Painters and the Society for Art of Imagination. I'll have to check these out more.
