I know this subject it's object of debate among everyone since is not the same thing for everyone, so....

Do you Believe that Chaos as a force is Positive in terms of bringing good things to your practical life, or Negative in terms of causing more harm than good.........

And please explain your views, not with Lengthy elaborate posts but with clear to the point words that everyone can understand and benefit from, let's keep to the subject as much as possible and off course, follow the rules, thanks

So begin........

Chaos has no moral compass. No more than electricity.... It depends on your application and to whom it is being applied to. Some people need order and chaos may really put them in a bad way. The reverse is also true. I can't boil it down any more. Chaos and Order exist regardless of the human condition. This has all the earmarks of a 'circular-logic' question...it could be debated until who-knows-when.

How about your own views on Chaos? C'mon, stand and deliver! *grin* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mf_popcorn.gif)

i believe in the chaos of the greeks: xaos; the void that creats the all an the nothing in the non order that is xaos

as in is it good or bad is in the hands of the beholder in that it can be eather depending on how it is used, an i believe it is the source of all, as a sourse of all it is beyond god an evil in it self for it just is or not however you want to look at it.

usefullness well we all like to put our hands in the cooky jar or we wouldnt be doing magick in the first place an xaos is a cooky jar that never runs out.

well that is my opinion any way...hope it made sence

all of our beliefs came out of the chaos which created us to this day

just like in magick
it has no color until you use it for good or evil purposes

Chaos and Order like good and evil are simply human concepts we've generated in an attempt to understand our mortal existance. Order and chaos do not exist in their own right. Rather there are forces and energies in nature that we describe and attempt to decern from by labeling them "Chaotic" or "Orderly". Merely dueling dragons. However if I speculate and say that there actually is something called chaos and something called order niether can be positive or negative but instead contain qualities of both. Either concept can be mis-used as much as it can be used for productive/destructive means.

My personal opinion is . . .

Chaos as referenced magickally isn't about a "force" or a type of magickal energy. Its not about right or wrong. And its certainly not about an "environment lacking rules or consistant cohesion"

Chaos is refering to a fundemental state of the universe, from which everything has and can and will and would come from. Chaos is the same thing as a monotheistic reference to "God" only not personified and without an individual agenda.

Chaos is like tao or "primordial ooze" or the pre-existing cosmic background radiation. Perhaps it could even be the tension that occurs before the discharge as manifestation (or more like that which preceded and caused the tension)

Chaos just isn't . . . then we draw it into being IS by narrowing our interpertation of it down to a point that its defined into something.
Everything that is, isn't Chaos.

Nothing(chaos) is true, everything is permitted (just the degradation of chaos into somethings)

I see it as energy which sometimes I mistakenly refer to as Force to me it's Raw unpaterned pure energy before anything or anyone gives it shape I get this theory after the Egyptian concept of the Sea of Chaos, it's also what u said it was because it's many great things at the same time & it has it's constructive side & it's destructive side like any element that conforms life yet to me also it's the Prime matter in it's primitive state which makes absolutely all matter following the statement/theory which is less known to many that says "everything came from chaos & shall return to chaos"

Thanx so much I hope other members get inspired to post on here as well stating their personal opinions which by the way doesn't have to have a scientific base it could be a pure personal notion or perception

Thanx much in advance

Its virtual photons . . . its electron repulsion . . . its masons coagulating . . . its "energy" actualizing potentialized "pre-forms" . . . its relieving quantum tensions . . . its 1.602 x 10-19 coulombs charge with no momentum, but in a schrodinger wave whos phase is indiscriminant in relation to all other electrons.
(really . . . what could one say . . . . its all those, only as a super-complex, anthroscopic or even organic resolution of an anotherwise unresolvable state of pyscho-socio-sexual tension)

Or its just the old gods stirring the pot of new gods who are swirling around the soup of reality . . . I'm a pearl onion.

This is a really good topic to debate on. Chaos could be considered disorder, while at the same time be considered order itself. It's just like the glass being half full or half empty. There is no real defined way to look at it.

I myself see the term "Chaos Magic" to sound more sinister and aggressive, but the actual art of it seems to be the contrary.

In Chaos magick there are no positive or negative. It is a force which depends on the magician responsibility. Like a saying " Greater power comes with greater responsibility". If a magician uses Chaos magick to do harm to people, it is negative and uses in good way it is positive.
