Summoning A Spirit, what to say? Options

Hi just wondering about summoning a spirit. I've been watching too much of the charmed ones on sky. I like what they say when they summon they say...

Hear my words
Hear my cry
Spirit from the other side
come to me
I summon thee
cross now the great devide

Although im not too sure what to say myself can't think these days because my mind has been very damaged because of a bad spirit. If I were to summon to be with me but not here (for dowsing) I would leave out 'cross now the great devide' i suppose, but doesn't sound right after that.

I'd like to know what other people have written for theirs?

Depends on who you are calling and why you are calling them.

I absolutely loathe set scripts and have never used them. So I basically clean/banish and prepare my area of whatever kind I am using, which might involve just sitting here or making a circle or putting up a triangle or mirror or whatever. I then gather tools and consider correspondences if I even want to use them and then I just call their names and speak to them. I mean, this doesn't have to be a big deal, assuming you are a beginner and starting with say angels or something 'light'.

It can be as easy as inviting them and saying good morning and asking a question; getting an answer (a real one) and acknowledging them or thanking them and then telling them they are free to go (again, assuming a 'light' entity here) and cleaning up afterwards.

I agree with Radiant Star with no set script. Plus I would also say the word 'summon' is harsh in my practices. An invitation is more the term I would use.

I tend to research the spirit or entity I wish to communicate with. I always find that whatever essence links with me leaves a residual effect on my awareness. Each and every entity I see as being an essential part of self. An extension and part of my own being. Therefore I need to KNOW what effect that part of 'myself' will have on the day to day dream walker (me).

Then and only then ... I begin with a simple mantra of the name of the spirit. I attempt to visualise the appearance of the entity ... perhaps the archetype or the ancestral impression of the force. I see this in my mind and create the vision of it walking through the doorway of my room or towards me in whatever landscape I may be in at the time.

Then and only then .... when I know it is the spirit I seek, as I do find that the mind creates phantasms and impressions and false visions dependant on the state of mind and level of concentration, I will then communicate. Usually it arrives in the form of visual impressions. Very rarely in words or direct telepathic contact. The latter has been experienced but I find it not very often.

Then .. as it is the norm on the mortal world ... the contact is closed with good byes, hug, handshake etc and I watch the presence walk away.

The way I work is more a link with the essence of the spirit within myself ...

Thanks for the replies. Someone else said to me that they didn't like sumonning but then I would want to be myself so I don't mind really but will have to speak to my guide. But then what would you do instead?

Radiant Star and Mr_Merlin were right about the set script deal. You do NOT have to go by the book, unless archaic screaming and begging gets your rocks off about summoning, lol.

Well, I'd listen to the person's experiences with summoning. If the experiences end up in a typical complaint of "Omg, my house r infested wit demons an I wake up w/ scratches on my body," then I boil it down to poor preparation and control practiced by the summoner, rather than slamming the art of summoning. More useful experiences include, "I don't like summoning because I found out I could just do the garbage my damned self" or "I like summoning, because it connects me to other entities, and helps me understand them better," etc.

I've summoned entities from the inane to downright harmful. With the harmful types, I used to use them to hurt others in complex ways I won't describe. The more direct, darkly fun summoning I used to do was summon a demon right into a weaker psychic's living room, and scry on them. The results included the psychic flinging their popcorn over their head while watching the Titanic or something, and they bolt the hell out of their seat. I don't do this anymore, because my rash actions taught me that THIS MAKES ENEMIES. Enemies are not fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wallbash.gif)
