What Are 'members'?, How do I become one? Options

Hello:
When I try to look or read the 'member's lounge' It says sorry but you cant.

Is a member:
1) one with more than 30 posts (needed to read blogs)
2) one that pays a membership to the esoteric library (to download posts)? (so which level of membership or $ ?)
3) some other criteria?

I would appreciate some information on this...
Also I have spent several hours looking at the controls, replys and posts and I can not figure out how to add an attachment to a post (feeling thickheaded (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) )

Are members the only ones with the ability to attach files to posts?

I really like this site, and most to the time I have just asked questions (and have gotten very helpful replies), and if I get interesting experiences (which I am hoping for) or come accross interesting information I'll post them here as well to contribute the best I can.

30+ quality posts and you'll get access to most of what SMF has to offer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

All members can add attachment to their post (member's group size quota allocation differs) and you can find the "File Attachments" feature below your post box when you're starting a new topic or when replying to a topic. Just browse and select the file at your local hard drive then add it to or within your post.

I know you have replied twice, and I have looked (and looked) and cant find it. There is no 'Files Attachment' button anywhere, before or after I press 'add reply'. Above the reply box I see buttons for inserting a link, an email, an image, a quote or code. Below the reply box I see 'Guided mode off', 'Check post length', below that emoticon stuff, and below that 'Add reply' and 'preview post'. Below that is the text I am replying to and below that is 'Review the complete topic', 'Low fi version' and 'English'. The rest are commercial adds.

Is it possible that there is a problem with the form or web page? I thought about taking a screen save of my screen, but I cant really post it:) Another way would be for one of you to create a new account and see the resulting web page to verify that the button exists (and kick me in the behind if it doesnt).

I have figured a way to post a photo by using a different server and using the insert image button. It however did not come out right (the image was huge) and I think one of the moderators fixed it (thanks). However it is cumbersome to do it that way, and I dont know if it would work with files.

In any event thanks for the quick replies (one of the main reasons I like this forums...)

U need to scroll the page down. Look for browse button and add this attachment button. U are not scrolling down? These buttons should be impossible to miss seeing. Click reply. Then scroll the page down untill you see browse. Click browse then search your computer for what you want to attach. Now click add this attachment. Now click post. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/swoon2.gif)

I'm sorry you're right Traveller. I checked my admin settings and I remember I've disabled the attachment ability for new member group because spammers had abused this, attached a virus and wiped out the HD of one of our inspecting moderator. Sorry for the inconvinience, but for now just get to 30 post to use that feature.
