Subcultures...way Of Life For The Magician Options

Are you part of a subculture? Even if not, what is your lifestyle like(assuming you're all magick practicioners)?

I am part of the Gothic community; and my lifestyle is quite nocturnal, Im awake during the night and dress always in black. I take nightschool for english(my minor) and go to an online metaphysics university for metaphysical degrees to help me for my future occult job. Im also a poet(i've posted a few of my dark poems in "creative expression forums", please take a look), and im a short horror/romance story writer. I have a pet snake(Argentine Boa), and a Tarantula(Theraphusa Blondi) which both are nocturnal like me, and I also consider them part of my family; i usually let them roam the house when my grandparents are not home(of course, one by one as the snake would eat my tarantula). I live with my grandparents for now, but im willing to either move to Canada or England in 2 years, after i finish my night school here. Im fascinated by the dark ages and medieval times(alot of Goths and Occultists are). I don't watch television nor play video games, for I see them as a waste of time.

Lets get to you know; since the majority post atleast everyday we should get to know one another better...

I'm a wild card. Don't really fit in anywhere but can adapt everywhere. I mostly get along with Wicked Juggalos, Goths, stoners, punks, head bangers, those "gangsta" freaks (they know how to party) and nerds. I'm not very jugdemental. Ok I lied I can't stand preps or meat head jocks (not that all jocks are meat heads) and stupid people piss me off. I mostly hang out with people according to music they listen too. Clothes really aren't a big concern of mine don't really care about alot of accessories either. I can get down with psychopathics, metal even some of that techno, industrial is the shit! I don't really care for a lot of rap or hip hop and the stuff I might be caught listening to is generally around my friends or sisters who like that crap. Gotta give them mad props for the booty vids though.

I'm deffinately a night owl like you. Don't watch alot of tv because I'm generally too busy. Video games are cool if I have time to play them. Like movies. I wouldn't talk shit about watching tv or playing video games because I do spend alot of time online. I like girls especially naked ones (don't get too mad I am a 22 year old male). In person I cuss alot and share my opinion even when I probably shouldn't I don't really care what others think. If you hang around me and or buddies long enough you'll probably get lost at a party, drunk and possibly stoned. When I'm not livin it up or doing school related shit I tend to get stuck in some deep converstation about some random topic. In reallity I'm probably not somebody you'd want to meet in real life. Well maybe meet but it would take a lot of patients to really get to know me. Especially from me because if people put me off for whatever reason I tend to avoid them. People generally like me for who I am and I generally like people for who they are.

Metaphorically, I'm the reincarnation of Crowley, minus the various addictions.

Lol, nice. I love Magick some have said I'm a psion with a gift here & there, I'm nocturnal as well but I dispise spiders lol I get along better with bats.

I'm a "wild card" too not fitting anywhere & my adaptation it's slow & at times non-existant, I hate to talk about myself really what can I say I'm dark & chaotoic mostly wiht a hobby here & hobby there, that's it, nugh said

Well, I am regular old schmo.
When I was a kid ~12 years old, I was facinated by Kirllian Photography, growing plants in Pyramids, Von Daniken, Out of body experiences, extc. In college I was into greek myths (Robert Graves), biblical history and sumerian mythology (thats when I bought the Necronomicon). But Ieft all that behind when I went to work at Nasa, later for a launch vehicle company, then for myself, and for the last 7 years for General Dynamics. I got married and have a 5 month old son.

A few months ago I dusted off the Necronomicon from the garage, and started some workings. Fortunately my wife is chinese and as she burns paperbags with fake money on it and prayers on the outside for her dead mom, she doesnt see anythig out of the ordinary with me burning some bread in a bowl for Nannar (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

After twenty years of training my mind to analize things in detail, not to trust anything, double checking every thing, I am finding it hard to 'suspend disbelief', and tend to suffer from doubt, self doubt and 'analysis paralysis'. But I'll keep trying as my beliefs are much more inline with the Nec contents that those in the Bible..

As far as life style, I lease a house in 9 acres of woods, not easily accessible, so I can do outdoor rituals. However, I keep my beliefs and doings secret from friends and family. My wife is not very interested in what I do, so as long as I dont stay out to late is ok with her..

I spend most of my free time with my baby (or with the baby on my lap when I am online (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ), and I am basically a couch potato (need to work on that).

So there you go, a fortish, regular schmo with an aerospace career and wife and kid.
