Physical Egregores Options

Hey, I was reading a bit about egregores and I came across something interesting. There wasn't a whole lot of information on it but apparently there have been cases where if enough power is combined, like in the instance of a full-fledged coven, it is possible to create a physical entity. Does anyone know anything about that or know where I could find more information on it?

Konstantinos's book "Summoning Spirits" has information on this. There is a spirit in his book which can teach how to create physical egregores as well.

I first heard about it in connection with Alexandra David-Néel and her time in Tibet.
Although I personally have no direct experience or knowledge of the rites required
it may be a useful starting point in your search.

At Kum Bum she managed to create a 'tulpa', a phantom produced by intense concentration of thought and the repetition of relevant mystical rites over a period of months. She created a stout, phantom monk, whose form gradually became less ghost like and more life like. Before long the phantasm was accompanying her on her travels and behaving almost like a normal human being. However, he gradually began to change from a fat, jolly monk into a leaner more sinister character, and started to escape from her control. The tulpa was seen by others in her travelling party, proving it to have an objective existence outside of Alexandra's own mind, but, to avoid serious problems with her creation, Alexandra decided to 'dissolve' it. But this proved extremely difficult as the phantom clung desperately on to his life; she only succeeded in getting rid of him after six months of hard mental concentration.

I must warn. For summoning any egregores, be sure to have them do what they must and banish them right after their job is done. Egregores are created to do what they're told, but after; they're free with their "free will" and the first person they'll attack once strong enough is the summoner, as he/she's the only one who has power over them.

Make SURE to banish after they're use is done as they can be quite sinister and greedy little fuckers as i've heard.

C: "Well, I created an egregore, and let it roam around too long without a purpose or somewhere to rest. It wound up trashing my house. Would this be considered an act of God, and therefore covered by my policy?"

Konstantinos' Gothic Grimoire is a good read, if you can get beyond the "I'm so gothic my dog barks Bauhaus!" attitude. I'm an old school goth/rivethead and I find that attitude tedious at best. That having been said, he's one of the few writers in the Llewellyn stable that actually has something to say, and a lot of his energy work exercises are actually quite good.

I have read Gothic Grimoire and it does have a very informative chapter on egregores, although there's nothing more than a passing comment on making entities of flesh-and-blood, which I'm still trying to find more information on. If you know of any other books I might find something in please let me know:)

Very very interesting. I would love to make a real physical golem like the one described. The "from air" technique sounds really difficult, but I would be willing to give it a try if I could somehow find the right way to follow through on it. The other way with purified elements sounds alittle to simple to be effective.. but just incase anyone here manages to make a "Toy," let me in on it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

oh and quick question.. is it possible for your egregores to fight and argue with others if not your own (if you have multiples) when they are 'free'??
