Do you really think it matters who is the President. Real power is no longer in the hands of the politicians, America Inc is a corporate entity now.

I don't understand why everyone rags on W., I mean, we all know he's a puppet. For all we know, the poor man may be dead and the real leaders of the country have some guy behind the back drop of press confrences with those little wooden puppet paddles going, "Crap! Bob! His head strings caught again!" whenever Bush makes his thinking face.

At least he's more useful than England's royal family....

Who's the puppet master for W then? Senior?
Indeed, he's more useful than the royal family (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif)

I would like to point out that the 'english' royal family are actually the royal family or england, wales, scotland, nothern ireland and some of the commonwealth (being head of state in some 15 countries iirc).

They serve an important function as head of state and also symbolic head of the church of england.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_monarchy

That is not to say I do not see the merits of replacing them with a republic. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/butcher.gif)

Oh please, show me an example of one thing ANY of the royal famly has done other than wave their hands and provide a soap opera that was essential (AKA, important) to the operation of the state in the past 20 years.

And since I was asked: I support W. I like puppets a great deal. Kerry just grated me the wrong way, and I hate Heinz products in every form.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) Man, I just love my rationalization for my political views. To think they wanted to add 'Mostly to be a Facist Warlord' to the senior superlatives just for me!

Whilst Di was a bit of a media whore she did do some rather good things like raising the profile of the human suffering of Aids patients (when they were sidelined and shunned), child suffering in africa, and pretty much single handedly brought about the ban on landmines.

Eric Idle released the FCC song not too long ago and it is just fine...
W is a gutless meat puppet on the strings of daddy and dick "deadman" Cheney (that man should be ....oh well!) The NeoCons are in control and we'll all soon be working for the company store. American politics are sooooo bogus, this regime has done more to set us back in the eyes of the world it really isn't funny. W has rescinded most of the EPA's standards in the name of big bucks so that here in the NE we are dying from the pollution! Have some more cancer and asthma! Puppetmaster: the Royal Family have precluded the possibility of President Blair as head of state, which would be utterly insufferable. That is the point of them, and anything else is an unneccesary bagatelle.

GeNoCyDe: Presumably, then, you'll be taking direct action? Possibly by removing the signs and replacing them with translations which represent the original language and culture of the country before unwanted immigration came about? Good luck with transliterating the 40-or-so main Native American dialects (and their many hundreds of sub-dialects), although you may cause some confusion among the English-speaking, immigrant population.... (This being the Fight Club, I hope I may be permitted to add, fool.)

Wheeee!!! *tumbles in*

I hate American politics! It's like an overdramatic soap! Canadian politics is so much more...calm. Although I'm sure alot have to complain about how liberal we are. Just because we can smoke pot, allow for gay rights like any other human being, and get beer offsale from a bar doesn't mean we're bad people!

I thought I would add my two cents of a foriegn currency. Woot!

This regime here in the USA is really trying! The bloody idiot just put the hold on the Davis-Bacon Act of 1931. It basically guarantees workmen of contractors to be paid at least what the prevailing wage is in an area. By stopping this Act, good ole W has Ok'd a contractor like Haliburton from having to pay workers in the Louisiana cleanup the standard wage. They can command slave labor. A bit melodramatic, I know. But this man has systematically decimated our civil liberties. If that wasn't bad enough, the bloody people aren't even doing anything about it! It is really embarassing! Aaaargh! And now they want a witch hunt to put the blame of the hurricane disaster response....with MY tax money! Not "Let's find a way so that this never happens again" plan...no...aaargh! Bleeding idiots! The problem is that they are not offering us anything better. i have been registered to vote since i was 18 and have never voted because they all suck! i mean how can i be comfortable voting for any of these nuckelhead mcspazatrons? Bush is only interested in Big oil because his families money is in oil and in imposing his baptist morality on the entire usa. And this spanish thing is getting out of hand. i live in Texas and they have this loophole in the immegration law that says if someone comes over the border and surrenders to the patrol, they have ninety days to stay in the USA before they have to attend a hearing. There are entire bus companies that do nothing but take these people and drive them deeper into the USA where they just melt into the population. White people are now a minority in texas, but we don't get any special rights. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not blaming them for wanting a better life, i'm ranting about the government here. PS. did you know that the popular vote doesn't really matter anyway, the electoral college is the one that does the actual voting and while they are SUPPOSED to vote the way their district wants them to, they usually vote their own way. Oh well, this is texas after all and if i have to see one more pro "W" bumper sticker i'm gonna scream!

Vote Libertarian (IMG:style_emoticons/default/13.gif)

Still, I think Bush has done a better job than Kerry would have. Kerry didn't offer any solutions, he just said "I'm not Bush." The Democrats are going to need something more than that in the future. Not that I see the GOP winning the next election, as unhappy as people are with the 2nd term of Bush.

*sigh* What happened to all the small gov't Republicans? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Probably on Halliburtons payroll...
The people need to erect a guillotine on the White House steps.
It would be nice to get rid of the present Senate, House and Admin. and start with some new blood. GREEDY BASTARDS, the whole lot of them.
You're entitled to your opinions about Kerry, etc. but you can't say that Kerry did anything wrong...he never had a chance what with the election rigging and the outright fraud.

This country needs to be run by a woman. I'm not saying that because I'm well...a semi-feminist, I'm saying it because women generally have more sense and order. Not to be offensive to all the good men out there (who sadly, aren't in politics).

QUOTE
    Nuclear Storage on Indian Graves
    The Associated Press

    Friday 09 September 2005

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission on Friday approved a private company's plan to build a nuclear waste storage site on the Skull Valley Goshute Indian Reservation in Utah, moving the proposal a crucial step closer to fruition.

Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman immediately vowed to challenge the decision in the courts, and state officials promised to fight the facility using all possible options. The state contends the project would be too dangerous.

Private Fuel Storage, a group of utilities, wants to store 44,000 tons of spent nuclear fuel at the site about 50 miles southwest of Salt Lake City.

Utah officials had argued the facility would be too close to a major population center and that the risk of a jet fighter from Hill Air Force Base crashing into the storage casks was too great.

But commissioners dismissed the argument, taking a two-pronged vote. First, they affirmed an earlier ruling that the waste containers wouldn't release an unacceptable amount of radiation if a jet crashed into them. Then they voted 3-1 to authorize the NRC staff to issue a license to construct and operate the storage site.

The license will be ready after paperwork is completed, said NRC spokesman Eliot Brenner.

"I'm very happy," said Paul Gaukler, an attorney who for eight years has represented Private Fuel Storage in its quest to build the waste facility. "People can be assured it's a safe facility."

Huntsman said in a statement that he was "deeply disappointed" in the NRC decision and would continue fighting the storage facility. In addition to a court appeal, another option for the state could be to designate a wilderness area to block construction of a rail spur to the site.

"This is a battle that will take several years to fight to completion, but it is also a battle that I intend to win," Huntsman said.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said in a statement that the plan was "dead on arrival."

"This is a reckless, dangerous proposal, and I am pulling out all the stops to make sure this waste never makes a home in Utah," Hatch said.

Private Fuel Storage's facility would be a temporary dump pending the opening of a national nuclear waste repository at Nevada's Yucca Mountain.

Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., has proposed storing nuclear waste at the facilities where it is produced - an alternative to both the Private Fuel Storage site and Yucca Mountain.

On Friday, Reid, the Senate minority leader, said in a statement that he still believes that is the safest option.

"Thousands of tons of deadly nuclear material will pass homes, schools, businesses and churches in communities all across the country, and there is simply no way to safely do this," Reid said.

An impoverished tribe, the Goshutes had been looking for ways to make money and eventually teamed with Private Fuel Storage to propose the station.

Under their plan, the waste would be kept aboveground in 4,000 steel casks, which can hold up to 10 tons of spent fuel each. The casks would be shielded in an overpack of two steel shells encasing a wall of concrete more than 2 feet thick.

There are still more regulatory hurdles before construction can begin. The earliest the site is expected to be in operation is 2008.

Just the latest in W's 'plan'.....Gee, what happens when we disrupt Indian graveyards? LOL! Not to be flippant, but the tribe whose land this belongs to have openly hailed it as 'OK'! We should paint a large bullseye on it to make it easier to hit...I am thoroughly disgusted.

About our culture, borders, and language

Culture
The diversity here IS part of our culture. Of course as I am a 3 month immagrant, I cant really talk (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif)

Borders
Makes since! Like really

Language
Do you think of the mexican immagrants that came over here LEGALLY??? They may understand the English language, but that may be what makes some people feel safe. Think about being picked up, and thrown into Saudi Arabia. You dont speak the Language, understand the culture, and so you are shunned. Everything is in Arabic...horrible right?

But here in this country we are slowly eased into everything. We aren't forced to learn the language, and customs imediatly. We are left winged eneugh that we are able to do this,

We are also right winged eneugh to limit the things that an immagrant can do without passing the Citezenship test.

Thats my 2 cents

I just hope the apathy of america's youth will not be the nail in the coffin so to speak. It takes strength and self sacrifice to to accomplish change. Its very easy when you realise that the concept of yourself that you have to sacrifice isnt even your own. This requires strength. The courage to admit that the things you have been holding on to aren't even your own, and you do it only because you're afraid that if you lose that there will be nothing left. That is what America inc. wants you to believe. Do us all a favour and dont believe it. You are far bigger than your incapabilities, and far more creative than your illusory lack of choices would have you believe. "La force"!!!!

Look at history. In all cases the big changes in superpowers have taken at least decades to acheive - but they all included a consistent if covert effort. A constant working towards the goal. Sure America inc may be the biggest power to be reckoned with yet, but there are bigger powers out there as hippy an untouchable as that sounds its true. Only Americans can change America. Vote for a start. Even if the difference is so tiny as to be almost unnoticable. Surely a tiny improvement is better than none at all. This is the most effective approach to change. This is the sacred magick forum. We dont become adepts overnight. We make one tiny subtle change after another in a fashion that the evolution can even seem unnoticable, until suddenly you look back over a few years and think to your self "shit" or "wow" or whatever you would say. And realise how suddenly it seems to be all much better. But that really that it has been the result of millions of tiny and at first unnoticible little changes. Governments only change by people demanding that they do, people demand that they do by voting, lobbying, protesting, advertising, and educating. Get out there and do something. We can all be canadians yet!!!!!
