Hello Brothers and sisters, I have been involved with the hindu system of magick for the last five years and I am always learning. The problem is it’s a very secretive community which rarely shares its knowledge with those outside of the Indian community. Its my aim to share the knowledge I have of the system but before that I have to let you guys have knowledge of the deities you will be working with in this system.

One of the most important group of deities you will be working with are the Muneeswarars. These are the the chief teachers of your path.Muneeswarars are a group of deities that are also categorized as “Guardian spirits” as hindus chiefly pray to them for protection against ghosts, demons and djinns. The name muneeswarar is divided into muni(which means sage or guardian) and eswarar(which means shiva). Therefore they are considered avatars of the Lord Shiva himself.

Different muneeswaras have different level of powers cuz some are
originally munis(sages)who became muneeswaras after thavam[which means centuries of meditation]Some of them are kadal muni, sem muni , muthu muni.(Grp1)These ayya(a polite term such as Sir) are quite calm owing to their heritage as sages, not many people pray to them as they are usually in thavam(deep meditation) and preside over seasides n lakes. They are known mostly to sages n ascetics whom they help out and have a direct link to.This is a picture of the grp1 muni.http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/9020/munigrp1kb9.jpg

Some Muneeswarars were originally powerful arakas/asuras(opposite of celestial beings) Warriors who repented n curbed their violent tendencies n became Shiva devotees;Shiva thus made them Kaaval theivangal(guardian spirits) n granted them the title of muneeswarar(Grp2)These ayyas are much more powerful then the first group owing to their warrior origins and are mostly Bulogavaasis(earth dwellers).
Due to this them living in earth itself, are easier to reach then most other Gods.Meat and alcohol are usually presented to
them owing to their asura/araka origins.Their Forms are usually very fierce but that is not meant to frighten us,its meant for those "things" that trouble the human race. They are the chiefly "ghost catchers" who go for vaettai(hunting)
and usually preside in jungles and do marathadi(under the tree) meditation. This is a pic of one of the type 2 muni.http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/5452/grp2hv3.jpg

There are also Muneeswaras that The Great Lord Shiva himself created and they are very few in numbers. They are apparently the highest ranking of the muneeswaras and are able to travel amongst heaven and
earth. One such muni is Sri Raja Muneeswarar.Ok brothers i will write
about Raja muneeswarar in my next post..Om Nama Shivaya..

Type 1 muni Type 2 Muni
