Hello, my name is Chris. I am interested in Philosophy, primarily the Phenomenology of Heidegger and various topics relating of philosophical ramifications of contemporary mathematics and physics. I also write music in both the neofolk (think Current 93, Sol Invictus) and black metal (think Windir) genres. I've played both acoustic and electric guitar for a decade now, and am learning piano and clarinet. I also practice Toas Kung Fu, a persian style of combat developed by Marco Safakhoo. I am in the Army and my job right now is to learn Chinese; to that end I've been studying here at DLI for almost a year now. I maintain an avid interest in the culture, language and religion of my germanic (mostly Frankish) ancestors; and to that end I the Germanic Gods are a part of my life. And finally (the big one) I study and practice magick. I encountered Aleister Crowley about 10 years ago and have been a big fan ever since. Much of what I do magicaly stems from the influence of Crowley, Ben Row, Bill Heidrick, Phil Hine, and Edred Thorsson. I'm extremely interested in "translations" of thelemic ideas and rituals into Germanic terms. I've constructed a fair number of rituals over the years and come up with many ideas relating to this which I'll be more than happy to discuss with anyone who is interested.
