In some occult theories he is known to be nothing more than a thoughtform which has gathered strength over time. In some Satanic philosophies, he wouldn't exist, as the Black Book of Satan states that Satan chooses how long one lives (which would prove Azrael to be nothing). And yet in many Necromantic traditions Azrael is viewed as a "Helping" guide and a "must contact". So i've no idea, but it would be great to discuss this spirit, as i'm quite interested in learning more about him myself, and what's there to lose? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Reading the entire intro (and other pages within for relevance), it seems that the man is comparing the Judiasm, Christian, and Islam discriptions and myths about Azrael (Azra, Ezra).
From what I read he had not much (if none) spiritual facts about "who Azrael" is, but only historical (facts?), on what relevates ancient folklore of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
It's also interesting how, i think it was the jews, who believed that Azra had become the Angel of Death "Azrael" and that someone (forgot his name) who was a votive Muslim wrote about Azra being Azrael.\
I'm kind of confused about all of what was written, partly because i've never read much of the Bible, Quran, or the Book of Enoch, but hopefully someone else can read and help me with understanding this.
I'm not sure much on who this author is, but thus far i've learned many sides of the story on this spirit.
A very good site nevertheless, and I shall continue reading on...

Damn, thats a tough puzzle!! Each pair of names reduces to the same number (i.e. Azrael and Sheila to 9, Raziel and Archie to 8, and Rachel and Leilah to 11 or 2), but other than that I cant see any other immediate patterns. I find it strange that the key to the puzzle references modern numerology not Hebrew Gematria. In hebrew: Azrael = 239, Sheila = 341, Raziel = 248, Archie = 219, Rachel = 239, Leilah = 76... so no pattern except for Azrael and Rachel?????
