I see the colour black as protective, binding and absorbing and times reflecting negativity.

Harajuku anyone? lol

I don't believe either black or white is the colour of 'evil'...
Doesn't black absorb negative energy?
And those who consider red as the colour of Satan-isn't it anger and passion?
I think we all have individual responses to colours.

Black absorbs all energy-- black, white, plaid, whatever.

And when it comes to colors that resonate with individuals, that typically depends on the Zodiacal Sun sign you were born under.
For example, Aries' color is red and Pisces' is green/blue and turquoise. I am a Scorpio and my colors are dark red and black. You were born under Aries so your color is red of all shades, and I bet you have a lot of red clothing or otherwise prefer the color red in other areas. (Maybe red panties?) I do not believe that Black has anything to do with satanism, the colour Red seems more suitable for satanism.
Black isn't even a colour, same with white, they're not colours.
The only reason why someone would see black representing satanism is because black is dark and they associate the darkness with evil and evil with satan but satan is Set who is represented with red.
I wear alot of black, often, but I think I'd be quite depressed if the sun was blotted out and all things were black. Praise the colours of life, bring back the tye-dye shirts.

One might link the two colors (white and black) with the cosmos.

Int hat way, we could reinforce the idea that black is "absorbing" and white is "radiating" making a duality with the "black hole - white hole" theory, in wich The black hole all absorbs matter travelling in its vicinity, even light. Theoretically, all matter goes up to a 2hite hole through some sort os wormhole? I think this is the way it goes.

Anyway, being black a color of absortion, and white a radiating, each person can call evil to the one it relates less.

Colors alone I believe have a hard time representing anything at this point, we need a symbol or logo to go with it. Even Coca-Cola red can’t signify Coca-Cola, and that is the most recognizable brand in the world, arguably more recognized then any current religious symbol… got me thinking about a sigil (but I digress).

As far as white and black being colors…all colors, no colors.

Bottom line, for anything short of a very technical discussion, that I and 99.999 % of the worlds population can discuss, they are colors. We can pretend to argue about their being achromatic till we are Blue in the face (pun intended).

For US Americans, if it is in the basic Crayola 16 set when they where a kid, it’s a color.

In reality white in light refers all visible colors equally, black refers to no light. For an object to be “true black” no light or color can reflect off it. For an object to be true white, it must reflect all colors evenly.

In cloth, depending on texture, they choose dark red, dark green, or dark blue to produce the wanted color…in some cases a combination of said colors. jeans and canvas seem to have the best combo as they fade to grey, most others fade to some off primary color.

In the end color is dependant on the surface molecules shape. That determines color, there are shapes that allow light to pass relatively unobstructed, such as glass and water so it takes more then just the surface molecules to give color. But in general that is the case.

If I am at the bottom of a twisting cave with no light source…everything is black.

But to answer the question, if Satanists where counting on black to be their identifier, it is a sad sad day for them and or a sad day for the rest of us if people are hunting Satanists.

Overall, I would say a sad day for humanity in general if a color alone identifies you as anything.

Voted 'No'. As others have said, red represents Satan better.

When I was involved with a group of pagans a few years ago I went through a phase of wearing bright colours, but now I've left them behind I've gone back to my original favourite colour - black. Still dye my hair red though, hmm...

Black is the combination of all colors if the colors are solids. It's a super-dense rainbow. You can fit almost any association with a color if you try hard enough though.
