I would like for this to be a huge post that involves all aspects of obe. First im going to just put some basic things down and than we'll go from there.
First i will talk breifly about meditation. Although its not usually the mode for an obe it can be. Second haveing meditated the same day as you obe practice is important. It keeps the stress of your day off your back and also allows you to get to that final stage of very relaxed.
Key to haveing an obe is Relaxation and Breathing. The relaxation i usually use one of two styles to get me close to where i want. I either relax my body piece by piece from head to toe or the opposite whatever fits you. Flex each and every area of your body. as you relax it feel that area come to a perfect rest. The other type is i will flexx my entire body all at once every inch is tight. Than i let out a breath and sink into a perfect relaxation. After this ill usually spend more time makeing sure my face is relaxed. Its easy to pass up face areas. Than i will take deep long inhales and as i let it out i tell myself that i will be twice as relaxed as i was. Feal yourself sinking into bed. That true feeling of sinking as you do this is the beggining of good things to come (see this is not hard). Relax however you like to a point of paralysis. Now the part that takes patiance. Place all thinking into one focussed feeling and visualization (if needed) of whatever you choose. either climbing a rope, Falling, Walking up stairs, going in an elevator, Focus of chakra,levitation,roll out, however you choose to leave has to be pointed and just like a meditation. IT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. Now this is SO imprinted in your head that as you dose off you feel usually one of two things your body expanding or riseing this is the area where you make sure not to break focus. Just stay with whatever style you choose go with it. Night after night after night. Its important to remember everything that happens. You never want to have to repeat a "lesson". It slows down what is already for most a long process (it does not need to be). If you need to write down what has happened. Just as if it were a dream. I cannot say what actual technique will work for you but as you progress you make up your own path and use what feels right for you. Remember you have your life to do this. There is no hurry no pressure. I posted in another thread that Franz Bardon type thinking works best for obe. There is no failure there is only when it happens. Continue to practice through the day. see yourself leave and go out a door astrally or doing pretty much anything. the more of this you add to your subconcious the more concious it will become when you need it. You obe all the time, all you really need to do is make your concious stay around to remember is all. Keep trying and if you fall asleep than there is always a nap or the next night. All aspects of lucid dreaming apply to obe. The more in the "here and now" you live life the better you will do at dreaming. The more you feel energy flow through yourself (sensitivity) the better and faster you will obe.
