I occassionally have dreams in which I was some kind of mage or magician there not all the same each time. More specifically a teacher of magicks. I remember in one I try to teach someone how to levitate, but he wouldn't listen to me. This dream of course followed others in which I learned other types of magic like phrases and written words as well as other abilities like walking through walls and using telekinesis, which I've forgotten and rarely dream about anymore. I found it kind of unusual, that what I learn in one dream and use that knowledge in another dream days later.

I don't practice magic in any way and most of these kind of dreams I dismiss. At the risk of sounding stupid and vague I'll stop here, but I am curious what people think.

That part of your being is apparently a little starved. It's possible you have a natural talent for magickal expression which remains untapped.

However, if I were you I would look into Lucid dreaming, and learning to control your dreams. I'll bet there's a deep well of knowledge in you somewhere, maybe from past lives, who knows, but if you can temper your dreams, and access those abilites - and the teachers that taught them to you - then you may be able to draw a lot of mystical wisdom from your dreams.

How are such 'paranormal' abilities of significance to you personally? To some people they mean power, to others they mean freedom, to some they mean Creativity - arguably all twists on a theme.

COntinuity in dreams is, from my observation in others, generally significant of a very organized and evolving unconscious mind.

Kudos!

peace

The other day I dreamt I was in a lake. Everyone was swimming in it, but the lake had been poisoned and everyone rushed out. At that point I anticipated a wall of water like a tsunami to flood the lake. For some reason I was still wading in the lake and I stuck my hands down into the water. There was some blue orb forming in my hands and I started chanting a spell or something. The dream was pretty vague I couldn't remember the words. I did remember stopping the chant for some reason and thinking it was too long or I couldn't remember it all. But some voice inside my head continued saying it and from that point on I just repeated the words. When it was finished a wall of water shot out of the lake and high into the air. It turned out to be a purification spell of some kind because the anticipated tsunami didn't come. Unless I had anticipated the wall of water as result prior to chanting the spell. Man, my dreams are confusing.

Hello, Plainsight.

It seems to me that perhaps you were a mage in a prior (or several prior) lives. The first dream seems to suggest that your higher self is trying to teach/lead you to magick, and it frusterated that you self is being stubborn. Perhaps a simple meditation to connect with your higher self would clear this up.

The second dream sounds both magickal and emotional. Water usually represents emotion in dreams. The poison water and people fleeing represents negative, poisonous emotions that are driving people in your life away. It appears the mage in you (likely your higher self) took over and clensed your emotional pool.

If you were indeed a practioner in past lives, it is no surprise that your higher self is very, very concerned with you. Mages and wizards, etc, are always trying to connect and utilize the higher self.

Hope this helps.

Having bloody and fiery runes punched through my right forearm doesn't exactly play well. Not all of these dreams are nice peachy, some of them are pretty dark and nightmarish almost.

The latest in this series of dreams.

I'm with my high school class and apparently we were going to an old museum. As the class was waiting in the lobby I got an eerie feeling about the place. Someone said this museum was haunted. I looked at an old sign which was labeled "Swampy Basement" by a set of stairs which lead down. There was some kind of holdup in the museum office and when I went there, the museum office was handing out insurance papers or waiver before going downstairs. After that was done everyone proceeded to go downstairs and I was trying to find my group. I couldn't recall exactly what the basement actually looked like. All I could remember is the walls where made of brick or cindeblocks and I was in a medium sized room. Parts of the floor were cemented while other parts had a bumpy contour. I sat with my group around a table. The museum operator dimmed the lights and our group held hands because everything started becoming freaky. I began to feel hundreds of invisible hands touch me so I closed my eyes and mentally tried to repel them away. But I sensed that only made it worst, because the touches became even heavier and at times scratched me. Before I knew it, a spirit had possessed me. I found myself repeating the soft voice in my head. Although at this point I wasn't as fearful anymore and it didn't seem to be forced upon me. The spirit was named Timothy. It had a warning to someone to my left. I assumed it was one of the person who I was holding hands with. But apparently it was someone else. One of the other classmates name Stephanie. Something about her life being endangered. And then it said other personal stuff to indentify himself, and some nicknames he was apparently known to be called by her. Timma, Timbo, Timmy, Tim were few of the many I could remember. At this point everyone was freaked out as I was making a scene and I tried to force out the spirit possessing me. From this point in the dream, everything becomes pretty vague. I knew I felt mentally exhausted and another spirit tries to possess me again. This is all I could remember.

I know this is only a dream, but in real life do spirt mediums feel being touched by spirits in the same way or did my mind make up that part? Just curious. Possesion is a first for me, I mean dreamwise. Also I've never been able to make sense of anything I read in dreams, aside from numbers, runes, and symbols, which I don't have a clue what they mean anyways. I'm kinda surprised Swampy Basement came through as clear as it did, though whatever it's suppose to tell me is kinda vague. And I apologize for critizing anyone in the past about that kind of stuff. Because this thread is starting to turn out like a personal blog I'll end it here.

So if I'm getting this straight....if you dream about casting spells, typically on a regular basis...that's a good indication you were a mage of some sort in a past life? I've had quite a large number of dreams where I'm casting spells, or a disembodied being of great power etc...but never know what it means in the real world =/ People with the sight, or who have claimed they do, have made the claim that I'm 'powerful'...but meh. Could it be more likely my dreams are more my WISHING I had such abilities rather than an expression of what may lay dormant?

In my opinion, the abilities themselves, in these dreams, do not represent actual magickal powers that lay dormant within us. What is being shown is that we are able to wield energy in some particular way - either for the purpose of dealing with a particular problem in our life at the time of the dream, or simply in some way that we are growing, some subtle skill we are picking up, for instance the 'knack' for reading body language, which develops often very naturally with experience communicating with people. In a dream, that energetic, instinctive, skill, can be represented by the ability to divine, or sometimes as telepathy, for instance.

I'm of the mind that subtle abilities, including psychic abilities, occur more often in people with more evolved consciousness, whether that means that their individual higher self is old, or they are simple manifested from a more evolved dimension of the Divine Consciousness in comparison to other manifestations, either way these dreams represent those abilities. If in your dream you simply have them, and can use them, then I believe this represents an ability you have developed recently in this lifetime, or that you recovered it long ago instinctually. If you dream that you are learning that ability, then in my opinion your unconscious mind is showing you the process of reclaiming that ability from an internal, i.e., spiritual source. Learning a new subtle skill from scratch happens without your conscious awareness of it, usually, unless you are fairly advanced in magickal practice and are developing them on purpose - and even then I don't think you'd know how to develop them unless you had already started instinctively.

Also, it's really, really really hard to gauge someone's 'power' or 'capability' with energy just by looking at their aura, unless you're like, some kind of magickal monk, or energetic adept who just happens to maintain a perfectly aligned and harmonized aura at all times. Even then mostly you'd just know that person had a great deal of disciplined energetic control. While I wouldn't cast any doubt on your own 'power' I generally would try not to think in terms of power at all, because it is a dangerous ego trap. People who suggest that you are 'powerful' because they can see your power around you, are most likely faking it, no offense to those who regularly see 'power' in individuals all over the place. Power is relative, and the average person has very little compared to even the intermediate occultist of most any path, and no one has any in comparison to the big picture. EDIT: Let me qualify that a bit to say that most people who say 'power' are interpreting an abundance of energy usually, which is not the same thing, having a lot of it doesn't imply the ability to control it on any level.

Also, remember what you're made of - you're wishing for abilities means that you are instinctively evolving towards them, even if it may take more than one lifetime. So, either way, not so far off.

that's my two cents.

peace
