Greetings,
You're correct on that Wickedone. I'm sure there are times when a Gatekeeper refuses entrance for a good reason. But there are other times when the Gatekeeper is more of an aspect of the Gate itself. In that, I mean, the Gatekeeper will many times try to test your resolve. Basically, see how bad you want to experience that Gate God by telling you no. It doesn't always mean you aren't ready, although, as you said, sometimes it does. I remember when I was entering Shammash for the first time. The gatekeeper refused to open the gate for me, but I knew I was ready and worthy to at least enter. So I commanded him to open up, yet he still didn't. So I hit him as hard as I could, and the Gate opened. Once I entered I managed to meet the Gate God and ended up doing well, even though the Gatekeeper refused me entry. I guess one must be very careful to know yourself before walking a gate. At least then you'll have some idea whether or not to bust your way in. Although it could also be said that Gatekeeper or no gatekeeper, if you aren't supposed to be entering, you aren't. But you brought up a good point here. Eabatu, Ashnook, Endupanna, any thoughts?
Peace.
