Because I grew up in an austere denomination, I am used to plain, simple designs. I would like a nice, discreet temple, open only to members and sponsored prospects. There would be a sanctuary with pews, with a plain altar and lecturn on a raised stage at the front for the high priest and priestess to lead group worship. There would be paintings of the Gods and Goddeses around the sanctuary, and a leather-bound Necronomicon would reside in a recessed chamber above the altar. There would also be a rooftop area for sacrificial burnings, a set of rooms in the back for the Ishtaritu priestesses, and offices and living quarters for the high priest and priestess.
I envision a modern building, with exterior design suggestive of a ziggurat. It would be not only gated but also guarded by an armed sentry to keep troublemakers out (IMG:
