I had a dream that a women's voice was talking to me and explaining a curse to me that she referred to as 6 crows. I could only see the ground right outside my house and the sky when I looked around. She explained to me that I should sit facing the direction the person is located, North, South, East, or West. Then I were to right down the person's name on a piece of paper and write 6 crows above it. When I awoke I tried what she had said out of curiosity and that morning there where 6 crows forming a circle in the road in front of my house. This seemed odd but also forming the circle with the crows was a blue jay with a feather sticking up on its head, like somebody had tied it there. Has anybody ever heard of this and if so could you explain the blue jay?

Well, crows represent sacred law, and a large part of that is the law of death. The blue jay frequently is associated with happiness. Perhaps the curse is to carry away happiness?

six in a positive light denotes responsibility, either personal or humanitarian. It's negative connotation can denote self-righteousness, ego, and meddling.

That's my two cents.

peace

Greetings,

It is interesting in that crows are taken as an omen of magick. In Native American belief any time you see a Crow you know magick is around. If you see a lot of crows in the same place you should pay special attention. You can gauge whether the magick is good or bad by the actions of the birds. If they caw at you <Squwawk> its a bad sign. They make a sound like. <Caw>

Six is a good number of birds. TO see 5 birds flying in the sky is bad. To see 6 birds flying is a good omen.

So I am going to guess that the magick in your dream was not effective on you.

Peace

Blue Jay in Native American spirituality often indicates "PROPER USE OF POWER" and the cycle of power is year round, but proper use of power (depending on your point of view) doesnt' align well with curses (generally). When Blue Jay comes to someone as a totem it generally indicates a need to control your own power OR to not get yourself in a position where your own power can be used against you. (Since some people believe curses can have karmic implications -- depends on your belief -- and Blue Jay in tradition indicates you are putting yourself in a position where your own power could be used against you, it could be a subconscious suggestion or advice?)

Blue Jay is also associated in other traditions with MOTHER EARTH (Jay comes from the Latin "gaea" which is "mother earth"). Again it relates to power. The Blue Jay is said to be able to tap power from both Earth (gaea) and sky (air -- as a bird). Blue Jays also stand for resourcefulness, and survival. Have you ever noticed how blue Jays always survive? They are "natural" bullies and will not go down to defeat easily. Where Crows are considered "wise" Blue Jays are considered powerful and sometimes belligerent.

BY THE WAY, the Blue Jay IS a crow (same family, anyway).

Crows in most native traditions represent secret magic and creation. Crows have more power myths than any other bird. They are tricksters, sun birds, creators (especially as Ravens), and even the Celts associated Crows with creation.

So, Magic and power both. Pretty auspicious? But I have no idea why this might relate to a curse. Unless you're using your power this way. Neither of these birds are considered ill omens, curse-bearers or evil. In many traditions Crow's are powerful deities, at worst tricksters.

Greetings,

I agree with Mezu. If it was six Crows and one Blue Jay I would take it as an excellent sign. Due to the fact that you not only dreamed about Crows but they were outside your house lets us know that magick is present. Was the behavior of the Crows unusual? Or did they just seem to be talking to the Jay? Thier actions are very important to determine the nature of the magick.

Peace!

They seemed to be talking to the blue jay as if the blue jay was directing the magick at hand. The person I had "cursed" told me he had a nightmare he got shot in the chest by a sawed-off shotgun around the same time I did it. I tried it on myself once facing a mirror and had a weird dream that shocked me it was so intense and realistic I woke up sweating and my heart was pounding out of my chest. There were 5 or 6 crows around near my house and one was looking directly at me cawing hostly.
