In the Telekinesis thread, someone said:

QUOTE
I remember trying out telekenesis a while back with little results. Although I did noticed that this metal foldup chair in my room sometimes made a ping sound while I was focusing. Probably a coincidence. On several occasions I did noticed sudden burst of awareness of my surrounding. To describe, its like you're daydreaming, then you suddenly get slapped back into reality with a gallon of caffeine. This is the only thing I'm sure of.

I was reminded of how during certain times, my awareness would quite suddenly, randomly, and spontaneously shift back into a place where my mind was stable. It felt much like my mind originally was before I turned 17.

I would like to make a reference to an earlier post I made about the White-Noise supershield I seem to have myself caught in (the best way I can describe my problem). There were SOME times it came down, and it seems mention of this seems to have made certain parts of my consciousness come together...

To describe the feeling, well, there are many variations. For instance: I remember when I was 4, I drank a cup of fruit punch. Ok, nothing strange there...but I swear I felt it absorb through the back of my throat, crawl up the back of my head, and sorta..."settle" on the crown point of my head. At that point I instantly realized my brain was cooling down from some sorta overheat, and needless to say, it felt good.

Starting more recurrently within this new year, there would be times when I am driving where I go back to that total fanboy (yes, I used to be a TOTAL Otaku!) state of reality I once had. The world around me seemed to shift, and I felt like I was on the verge of being in a sci-fi version of reality. The closest thing I could describe it was that there was a cognitive hallucination dying to break through to my brain telling me that the cars ahead of me were hovercars running on whatever powersource, with weird riced out lighting arrangements. I knew otherwise, though, no matter how much I wanted to go the other way. I was comfortable with it, and it was were I belonged, so I felt. Again, with this case, my brain felt spontaneously cooled down.

A time later, I was in bed, and after trying to converse with some spirits, I rested. Suddenly, *FWAM!*..........

...It felt like someone yanked out, I want to say, a crystal spike (thats what my intuition told me) from my head! It felt like it was right where the frontal lobe and parietal lobe meet on the right side of my head (similar to how a demon's horn may be). From there, it felt like a barrier of glass shattered, and everything became as clear as mountain air. I heard in a very clairaudible voice, "...If only we can sustain it...!" with my intuition telling me the comment was a reference to the calm state. Methinks I am being researched for the betterment of the astral (IMG:style_emoticons/default/compress.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/00000008.gif)

A few more times later, I was in bed again on another occasion, and it felt like an entity reached out and touched my head. My friends said it was an Angel, and my head at that moment instantaneously cooled down by about half-way until it would have been totally balanced. I said in a physical mumble, "Oh, that feels better..." For curiosity's sake, the angel looked like those whisps from Darnassus on WoW (a face with a huge magick wind aura behind them).

Now, to tie this all together, seeing as how developing TK can do this to someone...perhaps it would be TK to help create a paradigm countershift back to balance in my favor, and keep this barrier down due to my own energy emana---- (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Lighten.gif)

*mid-post epiphany*

GO FIGURE!!

Sometimes it seems like I never really recovered from that "Icarus Incident" that I mentioned in an earlier thread, and perhaps it also seems that the magick my spirit eminates could be too powerful for my physical and mental self to handle! On both sides, I seem to have the gnostic part down, going after a MacGyverish demeanor of knowing random stuff and creating scientific theories for magick, as you see, but perhaps its the raw power that the discrepancy is at?

I know for a fact that no matter HOW strong a spirit is, without a powerful enough mind, its more unstable that a bent rim on a Mazeratti at max speed! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Lighten.gif) Which brings me to my next conclusion, if powering up makes chakras spin (like the wheels of a car), what happens to spinning objects out of balance? They fall out of place and distort more as they impact things! The "machine" (an allegory to ourselves as a working entity) breaks down and causes unneeded vibrations that forces itself into a state of premature entropy!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smartass.gif) Further, it is easier to be uprooted in this sense! Whoa..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/insane.gif)

Greetings 'WyrdScience,

I have noticed that doing certain types of magick and invoking certain spirits seems to affect different regions of the brain.

I gauge this from headaches etc.

You seem to be describing this type of brain stimulation?

I think the brain is simular to a computer. It can be over worked. Some times you have to run check disk and defrag.

With magick you will run into countless brick walls. Road blocks.

What you have to do is rest up a bit and regain your strength. So you can climb over the barrier when the mind is ready.

Its all in the mind. Its good to view magick from a psychological standpoint sometimes.

I have no answers for you on this.

However I assure you that after your brain rests up a bit you will find the answers.

Peace!

And sometimes you have to reinstall the operating system!

Seriously though, anytime we do magickal working, especially in the line of chaos magick, the brain has to be reprogrammed to some degree. The brain is a huge warehouse of information with fancy hyperlinking and other doodads that make it work. Anytime we try or think of something, that information is being constantly reintegrated into the brain.

So it may be that you spend a lot of time and effort making progress on a spell. And then you suddenly crash, and don't even remember what you were doing or how you did it. Maybe you wake up one morning and wonder what the hell you are doing calling yourself a magician.

Now, this may seem like a bad thing. But in reality it is a learning experience. These lows usually represent periods of time when the brain rewires itself. So although your head has been pulled out of the clouds, you should rejoice instead of despair. Because you now have a better grounding from which to project more magickal working. And when you make progress next time, you will do more things and have more ideas than ever before. At least, until you crash again...
