First Evocation, Haures Options

Hello all, I am new here, although I may know some of you from other sites. I see Athena is here, hi lovey.

Right, down to the nitty gritty. I performed my first evocation on Saturday morning, and it turned out to be quite successful (so far). I evoked Haures to take care of two people for me. May seem strange for a newbie of the Goetia to evoke Haures at his first attempt, but let me give a bit of background. I will attempt to keep it as short as possible.

My wife is a teacher and for the past 3 years she has been getting no end of shit and backstabbing. It started when the head teacher at the time was using corporal punishment on the children (they work with pre-schoolers), which is illegal in South Africa, where we live. Anyway, there was a hearing and she was found guilty and fired. Next came along an old woman who took that position. She was a manipulating old woman and rather sinister. She also caused a lot of problems for my wife, was also found to be hitting children, but it didn’t get to the point of a hearing, she was retrenched last year December and subsequently found another job. And then this year comes along and they hire a woman (not through the proper channels) that has a history of hitting children and was not even qualified to teach the sector that these children are in. My wife should have that job, but it has been constant backbiting, backstabbing, my wife’s name being slandered and her having to prove over and over again that she is qualified to be where she is. The headmaster is the main problem. He lies to keep all parties happy because he doesn’t like a confrontation unless he has his buddies with him, mostly the chair of the Governing Body who was instrumental in hiring this last woman (who was given the job and then it was taken away because someone on the Governing Body threatened to go to the press). Anyway, threats have been made, accusations have been believed and rumors have gotten to an all time high. My wife is emotionally distraught, but will not back down, being the strong woman she is.

Now, back to the evocation. I have read and reread the grimoires for the past few years. Each time the tensions get high with this situation I think of starting the evocation work, but never get to it. For some reason I have always been interested in reading accounts of Haures, so I found myself quite attracted to him. Having had this go on for three years, I felt that something was trying to tell me something, i.e. it was pushing me to begin the evocational practice and was using this as an excuse to get me going. So, I threw in the towel and did.

Haures wasn’t my first choice however, but it did end up being Haures. We heard what was going on, on Wednesday and by Thursday I had had enough and so I planned for an evocation over the weekend. Saturday morning at 4AM, I performed it. Not much happened, but when I gave the license to depart I did sense a black energy rushing around the circle and out to the East where I had placed the Triangle.

That evening I spoke to a friend who is a fantastic Seer (we always say we are a good team, I am good with energy and magical work, she is good with the Sight), and asked her to have a look at how effective the evocation was. She saw Haures, although she is not too interested in the Goetia and knows nothing of the demons, she is well practiced in the Arts of Witchcraft and working with Underworld Entities/Inner Contacts. A lengthy dialogue then formed and Haures stated that I had grabbed his attention. He was however waiting to see if I was serious and told me to perform another evocation at the same time the next morning. He also gave me other instructions such as placing a black candle in the Triangle, a strong dark drink and a vessel such as a stoppered bottle in which he would give me some of his essence to use in the future, making it easier. He also instructed me to tie something black around my neck, which we couldn’t understand. Anyway, I did all that was instructed and as I was giving him instructions of my will he laughed at me. I told him to shut up because I didn’t have time to waste playing games (oh, he also said that I should be more stern, he hates pussy footy people). He then asked me why I wanted to do what I was doing, so I told him.

My friend saw him later on that morning in her visions, and he was pleased with the evocation.

Now to see if what I requested will work. I asked him to destroy both the headmaster and the chairman of the Governing Body, and to cause them to resign from their positions. I have also been doing other work to direct my will to alter the circumstances. Today my wife heard a rumor that the headmaster had stated that he would make her the head teacher of the Pre-Primary section, where she can, once and for all prove herself (last week he was accusing her of creating a smear campaign against this newly hired teacher, which she was in fact, innocent of again. It is not the first time he has accused her of such things). Still need proof of this rumor however, so we will see what happens next.

Something that was a little out of place today was that a puppy from across the road got out, as they often do, and had come over to the gates outside my property. The boy went to get the puppy, but my dogs attacked the puppy through the gate. How they did I don’t know as the gate has quite narrow spacings at the bottom, but they managed to pierce the puppies lung and he died. My dogs have killed our cats before, although they always think they are just playing. Being large dogs, they don’t realize how forceful they are and tend to do damage internally with no teeth marks. But they have never attacked another dog or person in such a way.

Well that’s my story. I think I am hooked on this evocational stuff now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/baby.gif)

That sounds like a great reason to do an evocation, Red Oak!

Since you have a seer, you're definately a step ahead of me, and alot of other people that work with spirits and don't have properly developed astral senses. It sounds like things may go well for you, but I guess you should definately listen to Haures when he tells you to be more forceful. I think all the goetics respect that more than trying to be overly nice with them.

I suppose the only mistake you've made (In my humble opinion)is that you've posted about it here before you've gotten your results. It's best to wait until after you get them to post the spicific details. I'd suggest from now on you ask the spirits you are working with if it's alright if you discuss these things on the forums, and if you're still waiting to get results, just post an outline of what you did, but not why you called on that spirit.

But, with that aside (and not asking about your specific intent or content of your spirit work), can you tell us more about your evocation techinically?
Did you use the tradition Lesser Key conjurations . . or originals?
Did you use the "standard" tools/weapons? . . and circle?
Mirror, smoke, just sigil in the triangle?

Hang around your neck . . . did you use the seal/hexagram of solomon? (isn't one of those supposed to be hung around the neck) . . . Did you hang the spirits seal around your neck (isn't it supposed to be on the other side of the solomon seal/hexagram?).

Just curious. Your work sounds VERY good. Keep up with it. Watch carefully the ego and obsessive tending . . . But otherwise..Good Work!

One of the first things I noticed after I started with evocation work is that one can easily (very easily) become obsessed with one's own "power" and feel it's something that can be (and should be)done on a very regular basis for any silly need. Resist that urge, that's all I can tell you. If you don't, you'll get knocked on your a** pretty quickly by something big and bad that'll prove you're not all-mighty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Thank you alpath, and yes, I do agree with you. I wasn't going to post about it for this very reason, but was driven to do so. Maybe Haures likes to boast. There is a ritual pattern in the Teutonic faiths called a symbel whereby the participants boast about what they are going to and what they have previously accomplished to everyone present. The reason is that the boast gets tied into the Well of Wyrd, and after such happens, you are bound to go forward and do the task. Maybe this is what has happened in this case. Or maybe it was just my excitement. But I will keep it in mind for the future.

Ah yes obsession. Good advice, thank you, and to altpath again.

I like to keep as simple as possible, so I took all with me that I thouhgt abosultely necessary, which might not seem that simple. Seven candles, four on each cardinal point and three to form the triangle. Incense between the circle and triangle. I did the Star Ruby to banish, then I used the first two Enochian Calls, the Bornless One, and the Conjurations from the Goetia. I had the sigil of Haures and the Pentagram of Solomon hanging around my neck, and had the Hexagram ready in case I needed it. I had a dagger with me, but only used in the second evocation to command the spirit. I didn't use a dark mirror or crystal ball as I didn't consider it required, I'm not much of a skryer at this point and didn't want things exploding during the Working, just in case (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . And that was basically it.

Another aspect of Obsession is of the spirit its self. Be careful not over use the spirit, or become too "chummy" with it, especially listening to it for extended operations, that's when you loose the control and are chained to the spirit. You are the Conjurer, do not become the Conjure, comming at the demon's will. Rember the Tarot, the Trump of "The Devil", how man becomes chained unwittingly to the infernal.

I was doing my usual search for Haures/Flauros and found this post. I'm not sure if I've mentioned before, but he is my patron Daemon. Definatly good choice for your evocation (Yeah OK so I'm perhaps a little biased LOL). That is an awesome story, and I'm curious how it turned out in the end. The interesting bits are that you did the evocation on a Saturday (his sacred day), and offered a strong drink (he loves those). So very perceptive on your part. Best of luck with this. It definatrly sounds like something he would help with.
