Intermediate Magick and Mysticism
Online Course

There are many books on magick and mysticism. We are offering a more advanced esoteric course for those who have read a few of these books. Magick and mysticism can be studied in theory but deep understanding comes from practice. No amount of theory can substitute for personal experience. The course includes many hands on activities such as ritual, crafts, meditations, and spirit journeys. Each participant is encouraged to practice daily.

This course is for people who want to learn in an encouraging personalized setting and have been unable to find that in their area. In the class forum, members share ideas and experiences while receiving guidance from the teachers. Teachers are also available for one on one discussion by telephone, email, or chat.

The course is also useful for anyone wishing to supplement their non-religious counseling studies with a magickal education to better serve their spiritual community.

Each student receives a clear quartz crystal from their teacher. The stone represents the respect and dedication they will show for each other. It’s a sign of achievement, trust, and a reminder of their duties to one another. Clear to show students need to be open minded. Quartz for purity, protection, clarity of vision, and it holds spiritual essence like a battery.

When the course is complete, each student has the opportunity to become an initiated member of the Elodrym. More information about the Elodrym is at www.elodrym.org
About the Course

“Three goals of mysticism: See all, study all, experience all.”

By studying the philosophies of magic and mysticism, practicing with the elements, journeying to inner and outer worlds, the participants will learn how to consciously create and live within the pattern of reality.

The course is a year long and divided into four sections. Participants can pay $100 for the entire course, or pay $25 at the start of each section.

Section One: Philosophy and Nature of Magic

1. Attunement to self: Dream retention and interpretation.
2. Gain a historical perspective on how magical philosophy developed by studying the history of magick in the US, and reviewing important figures in magick and mysticism.
3. Principles of Magick – as taught by the Elodrym. The basic “rules” of magick.
4. Students explore their current world view and compare it to others by discussing religion and Ultimate Reality, indigenous beliefs, and Wiccan Principles.
5. Delve into how cycles affect our lives by studying natural cycles and seasons, Gaia theory, and inner emotional cycles.

Section Two: Mystical Experiences and Ritual

1. Understand what mysticism is; learn about different types of mystical experiences, and the eight causes of mystical experiences.
2. Discover what self-actualization is. Look at areas of our lives that need improvement in order to move closer to self-actualization.
3. Discuss what reality is and how to see the smaller unnoticed details of life.
4. Learn about different magickal symbols. Learn the difference between symbols, sigils, and signs. Design your own sigil.
5. Explore the different components and stages of ritual.

Section Three: The Elements

1. Learn about the elemental realms, elemental spirits, and aspects of the elements: earth, air, fire, water.
2. Study the ritual tools and symbols of each element along with their correspondences.
3. Journey to each elemental realm.
4. Design and perform a ritual involving the elements.

Section Four: Spirit

1. Compare the Hero’s journey to ritual magick.
2. Explore Jungian Archetypes.
3. Learn about commonly encountered entities and how to work with them.
4. Learn about the World Tree, other realms and the inhabitants of other realms.
5. Review the higher, middle, and lower self.
6. Write an essay, at least three pages, on the meaning of the Elodrym symbol.
7. Use the gathered knowledge of energy flow, symbols, ritual components, the elements, and divine consciousness to create and perform a ritual that uses the Elodrym symbol to reconnect with the divine self.

How the Course was Designed

The following Elodrym mages collaborated to design and teach the course. They are varied in careers, backgrounds, and training with each one bringing a unique perspective to the course. They have accumulated mystical knowledge from their own training and have learned about religion, sociology, psychology, and natural history from University course work.

Myrddin Arkayne Magii has led various esoteric workshops, discussion groups, and large rituals since 1998. At Southeast Missouri State University he took courses on psychology and physics. At Cabrillo College he took classes in art and web programming. Arkayne incorporates the principles of art and psychology into lessons on seeing reality from a new point of view.

Myrddin Masery has lead workshops on spirituality, discussion groups, and group rituals since 1998. She has a degree in mass communication and a minor in religion from Southeast Missouri State University. Her independent study thesis was “Mysticism within Native American, Christian, and Neo-Pagan Religions”. Her knowledge of communication, social structure, religion, and the basic principles of mysticism are incorporated into the course material.

Mage Youngermoon Foolshare is a professor with a Ph.D. from the University of Texas. He has studied ecosystem processes and the interactions between people and the environment, and his academic studies have spanned physics, anthropology, geography, and economics. He first became interested in shamanism, magic and witchcraft as an undergraduate student in Anthropology, and has about twenty years of magickal experience which includes ceremonial, Jungian, and shamanic studies..
