Hello everyone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

just having a go at an introduction here...

i'm from Australia, good to see a few others here are too. i've always been interested in religion and philosophy and for the past 5 years or so i've been mostly focused on ethnobotany and shamanism. my path has inevitably crossed with the world of magick, and at the moment i'm working on a deeper understanding so that i may be able to practice in the future.

i'm a huge fan of all kinds of music and love a good dance (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

i wont say anything more for now but i look forward to being able to contribute something soon, and learning a great deal more from you guys!

Welcome to the forum. I consider myself to be a wild mage. It's a blending of Western magick style and more instinctive natural magick. I'd be interested in hearing more about what lead you to shamanism.

hey Masery thanks for the welcome

i guess you could say 'shamanism found me' in a sense. my interest in altered states of consciousness as a teen led to experimentation with a variety of substances. after a fair deal of effort out mushroom hunting i came across my first fruits, the experience that followed was one of complete re-alignment with nature, weaknesses and strengths completely exposed, wont go into detail but i had a vision of an old mexican man who informed me that i had potential to be a healer (this is not my lineage however).

many bouts of self-doubt about the validity of that message have come and gone since, but i continued to work with the mushroom (and other substances to a lesser extent) and have been going through somewhat of an internal initiation process. i dont believe i'd be the person i am today had i not had those experiences and i am eternally grateful.

i have read a post of yours on 'wild magick' and feel i can really identify with that too.
