My opinion concerning life when talking about enlightening the Self and obstructions on that path are maeby a bit straight forward... but they work for me. Fear is the only obstruction. Fear of exposing ones emotions. Fear of telling your story. Fear of speaking out. Fear of showing anger. Fear of showing love. Fear of aspiring to Hights. Fear of living "ordinary" life. Fear of doing "wrong" in the face of your Beloved Deity. Fear of denying ones Will when denying oneself pleasure when following some rigid dogma that has for some reason struck achord in your beeing. Fear of loosing ones own individuality. Fear of loosing connection to the Whole. Fear of eating too much. Fear of eating too little. Fear of authorities. Fear of death. Fear of Life. Fear of people. Fear of contact. Fear of loneliness. Fear of development. Fear of stagnation. Fear of change. Fear of static beeing. Fear of your looks. Fear of others opinions. Fear of murderes. Fear of terrorists. Fear of presidents. Fear of extraterrestrial invation. Fear of "bad vibrations". Fear of future. Fear of past. Fear of electromagnetic radiation from cellular phones... you get my point? or shall I continue? The Darkest Magick of All is Fear. You can threaten with anything. The fear is the one that will get you. The hardest part is the realisation that the fear, although it may have been helped to be stimulated into existance by some external threat, is actually You. You can go on blaiming some spirits or demons... but what was the original reason for them to be there in first place if they actually are there? What would be the remedy to fear? You can fear Anything! So why not accept. Let it go. Be free! You Have the power. You are the Power. What you say.

sorry, sounds almost like preaching to me right now as i (small i (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)) think of what I write... hehe. but I'm only try to set up a nice conversation about fears in general and the way they affect our lives.

love

Fear is ever present, and only a fool truly has no fear of anything. But, one does not have to give in to their fears... Face your fears and you'll grow stronger. My greatest fear when I was little was spiders, because I had been bitten over a dozen times by brown recluses, the deadliest spider in the world, and I knew that each time I was bitten, there was a chance that I could die, not to mention how painful the bites were for days after. My fear of spiders began when I was 4 I think, but I faced it when I was 12 or 13. Whenever I came across a spider, instead of panicking and reeling away (I was petrified of spiders), I forced myself to stay, watch, and study it before I killed it myself, preferably with my bare fingers rather than with a fly swatter or long stick or getting someone else to do it. Now a spider can crawl on my arm and I just calmly swat with my palm like I'm swatting a mosquito.

Other than that, I've had much in the way of fear, and more than once it has gotten me in trouble. Consequently, I have to use intelect as a substitute, but the problem is, you can't think of everything all the time, so I still get in trouble from time to time, particularly with authority figures, not out of outright rebellion, but from being bullheaded (some of my friends and family are cops so I'm pretty indifferent to cops in general). You see, some of the things you mentioned one does not have to fear, but rather weigh the consequences of ones actions and think, "I'd really rather not get stuck with X for doing Y."
