Vibrations Options

So so so,

Recently while vibrating god names I have noticed something very odd. It seems that there is a.. secondary vibration, if you will, that is harmonizing (and i mean that literally, I would say it is about a fifth lower than whatever tone I vibrate) with my main vibration.

Has anyone experienced this "secondary vibration" and if so do you know what it is?

My first thought that it could be the second set of vocal chords that every human has activating and such, but I am not sure.

It does, however, seem to make my vibrating a lot more potent.

So yeah, thoughts?

Hi there, I have experienced it myself, but I know tibetan monks are taught to activaye the secondary vocal chords in there mantras. So it may well be that. Loki

I experience this secondary vibration shortly after I start vibrating names, generally after the third or fourth name I pronounce. As to what it is, I have no idea. I hadn't given it much thought until I read this topic. It has piqued my curiosity and now I'm interested to find out as well.

Yup, I used to get that a lot. It is great...I really enjoy the physical sensation that accompanies it. You can feel your energy centres thrumming!

I went on a workshop once which covered how to vibrate "properly" and it was really noticeable. I think I was the only person there who was doing stuff that required vibration on an almost daily basis at home, and try as I might I couldn't help but drown everyone else out. It wasn't that I was louder, but the sound just filled up the room more. I'm out of shape for that kind of thing at the moment, but I say if it is working for you then that is great! Keep going and use it.

Interesting about the notes though...I always felt my "secondary" vibration seemed to modulate in 5th's either side of the tonic, but I never listened closely what with the other stuff I would be concentrating on in that context. I will pay a bit more attention next time I am doing that kind of work.

i dont know too much about vibrating, but ive been a singer long enough to know that when a person plays a note on a piano...say a C, there are sympathetic notes ringing above and below it. That is, descending and ascending octaves vibrate along with that note, as well as fifths and i believe thirds, fourths, and sevenths. This is very noticeable when you pedal the key. I can only assume it is the same with the human voice. We are equiped with the natural ability to cause a rippling effect in the musical spectrum. I suppose when you vibrate your voice, you are effectively pedaling it, as you would a piano. Otherwise, people have a difficult time picking out the other inconspicuous pitches that accompany their regular voices. what do you think, any musical peeps to confirm or call me out? Its only a theory.

you would think as a music major i would know, lol

but alas, i do not like singing, so i am not to familiar with how the voice works, but your theory makes sense.

I am not sure, however, if the vocal chords and such work the same way as a piano, but sympathetic vibrations are very very possible, which brings me back to the secondary vocal chords, which i would imagine is what is being sympathetic to the vibration caused by the main vocal chords... much like when a note is played on a well tuned guitar, you will hear overtones and other notes and such

i AM a voice major. or was, alas. my last experience with the major had (let us say) some bad vibrations! haha anyhoo. i can see what you mean by guitar. Ive dabbled here and there with instruments, but voice has always been my first love. BEING a voice major, i have to admit, im not apt on all the technical stuff like a good soprano would be...wink wink* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bigwink.gif) what we need is a Baritone. Any baritones?

Ive done it before...at least for cleansing purposes. Would it be the equivalent of vibrating, only without words?

Funny you say that. as I AM a Baritone! hahahaha, though singing is not my strong suit.

As to instruments, It sounds like it would work, instead of using yourself to vibrate the energies and such around you, you are using something whose job it is vibrate lol.
It should work, as long as you know it will.

PS. I have done something similar, only I vibrate WITH the instrument. I find it helps well with learning to harmonize as well, hehe.

That is a really interesting idea. I've often wondered if you could measure the effects created by a working and replicate them using a machine, or whether you always need that human element.

I'm not sure about this secondary vibration, but I did notice a change in the way I vibrated the names a few months ago. Only way to describe it is as a sort of echo, as though you were in a large cavern, your voice replicates this sort of echoy sound... does that sound familiar to the effect you're getting Umbra?

Hmm... not quite Heebeejeebees, but I believe I know of what you speak.

That happened to me after I learned to vibrate "properly", if you will. It seems to create a more dynamic and powerful vibration, not to mention the cool effect you can use to scare people that bother you. lol

But yes, there are many aspects of vibrating that confuse me tons.

Hopefully someone around here knows the answer.
