This is what I term "sub-lucidity", I just made it up. But what I mean by it is that when you astral project you are in a state of mind that your body interprets as sleep. So what you experience is very dream like and in fact AP may just be inducing dreams, we really don't know. But at any rate what you're experiencing sounds normal. If you're not felling any discomfort or side affects I think all you need is just plenty more practice. I've been practicing AP for years now and every now and again I hit an atypical experience where I am not in total control or have loss of sensation and other phenomena as well.

Remember simply knowing how and being able to astral project doesn't mean you have mastered it. Thats really just the first steps and its like being an infant learning self control all over again. Only experience and time will give you the ability to take your first steps and learn how to totally control yourself.
