Tales of two: the world of Radiant Star and Dharma Dragon.

At the request of a young witch, I will be posting little stories from our lives which I hope will act as a hope and an encouragement to members who have yet to experience contact with entities.

Please note that although I will be recounting our escapades in story format, they will be based on true events.

Before I set the scene however, I would like to draw your attention to this thread where I meet my dragon for the first time:

Allow me to set the scene:

Dharma and I live in what we call the Treehouse, it is a split level property with very steep stairs and the top floor is high up as if it were at the top of a tree. The steep wooden steps lead up to the various branches (levels) and the windows are all slightly tilted at different angles, as are the floors, due to movement during the war when a bomb exploding nearby shook the house and it settled into its current slightly off-line mode.

Dharma and I share a room on the second level, not the warmest in the Treehouse, but infinitely preferable to the East facing rooms and with a higher ceiling on this level than the favoured room above – it suits my friend when he is in a flying mood; which thankfully, is rare indoors.

We each have favourite spots in our room, I enjoy the recliner and the office chair when it is vacant (daughter currently camped in this spot when not at work or asleep). Dharma, when not sat on the desk or my shoulder when we are out, has a particular spot on the bed where he watches television and in the mornings, quite likes a turn in the recliner himself.

We do everything together, well, almost everything, but his particular favourite is sharing my bath and shower – in fact, he tends to sulk if I forget to shower him too, but apart from that, he is good-natured and is fun to have around.

At the train station

It is November 2004 – I am in deep grief from the loss of Bob, have virtually collapsed and had to take to my bed; coincidentally an old friend calls me and I explain what has happened; he is so concerned that he invites me over to his city to stay for a long weekend.

Arrangements are made and a few days later, Dharma and I take the tube to Euston where our train is due to depart shortly. We watch the main board to see when our train is ready to board and after a short delay, we are directed to the platform where I am expecting to board coach ‘E’ of a very long train.

We walk through the gates and there are a line of pillars preventing us from seeing much of the train on the other side, so I ask Dharma where our coach is, he tells me that it is right next to the temporary information board we can see standing in the distance, I disagree with him and say that cannot be so, since we are on coach ‘E’ and I can see that the coach between the pillars next to me has a sellotaped square of paper with a black printed ‘D’ in the window of the end door, therefore we are within a few feet of our carriage. We go to carriage ‘E’ and I check my ticket for the number of my seat, oh dear, I have misread the letter and our carriage is actually ‘H’.

Dharma and I wander down beside the train, there seems to be a carriage missing and as we reach ‘H’ I turn to pick up my little case and I see…

… the temporary notice board right opposite where we are to board.

My pride is a little wounded, and as I try to find my correct seat (which was supposedly facing forwards and doesn’t have my reservation on it for some reason) I decide that it was my own brain that worked it out, then I hear an announcement over the intercom which apologizes and informs us that there are no reservations on this train as some carriages had been changed and there was no time to re-allocate the seats.

I then realize that even if my brain had worked out how far carriage ‘H’ would have been along the platform, I would have been wrong.

Humph… clever little dragon I thought.

Party animals

It is December now and as 2004 comes to a close, a group of us are pleased to be invited to a housewarming party with mulled wine and other goodies. Soon the house begins to fill with people who are strangers to us, most of the guests are from the world of television and are eagerly discussing filming and latest productions; feeling rather alienated from their world, we sit with another guest who we have more in common with and soon I become engrossed in a conversation about pets and their little peculiarities, whilst my daughter goes off for more drinks - I am on the lemonade and taking it slowly.

During the course of the evening, I look across to my dragon and ask if he is OK; he suddenly lunges at a girl sat behind me as if she is my enemy. I am surprised by this as I have not been introduced to the girl and in fact have barely noticed her arrival. Shortly after this, my daughter explains to me that she has accidentally spilt her drink onto the girl’s shoes and said girl is now bitching and complaining to her crowd about the incident; I realize that it is the girl that my dragon is so angry with and marvel at his abilities in non-intrusive fidelity.

Shopping trip

Lots of life happens as we go along, we have lots of loose plans and a few events that we plan for like holidays abroad, weddings and moving home. Other things crop up and take us by surprise.

One Tuesday morning I got up and decided to take myself out for the day, it was quite early and I checked the weather to see how many layers of clothing to wear and spoke to Dharma; I told him that we were going out and formally asked him to come with me – he comes everywhere with me anyway, but I though it polite to give him an invite.

A kilt is chosen with a top and necktie to match and thick warm winter stockings. I glance at Dharma, he has a black bow tie on and white shirt or at least I can just make out the top half of this get up – I am thinking that this is a little over the top for a shopping trip to Guildford, but I joke with him a little and forget it.

An hour or more has passed by and I have had to attend to Moderator duties, answer emails and remember that it is Patricia’s birthday, so I call her to invite her round later to collect her present and card after Uni, she mentions that she has free time today, so I have a brilliant idea and decide to invite her out too!

Patricia, Dharma and I are finding it chilly on the platform so we buy hot drinks and a light snack for the train ride to Guildford.

The shopping trip is leisurely and I decide to buy Patricia a birthday lunch of her choosing, she wants Italian and we have Da Gennaro recommended to us.

Well, the restaurant is very nice, the tables covered in fresh clean cloths, the waiter is attentive and the food is among the best I have tasted; we dine on the largest king prawns I have ever seen dipped in garlic sauce and choose pasta dishes from a varied menu.

I am happy, Patricia has made an effort to look nice and I am relieved that I dressed up for the occasion after ending up in such a pleasant eating place. I look across to Dharma and hope he isn’t feeling left out of this girlie day out and I notice…

…how smartly dressed he is for the occasion in his white shirt and bow tie!

Bus breakdown

Well, it is a nice sunny day here in London and Dharma and I have just been out on the bus. He had a couple of baby dragons with him and they were just like children – a handful.

Tuesdays are supposed to be desk days, well today was like that, only I wasn’t sorting out filing or studying or writing letters, no, I was joining in discussions on various forums and waiting for the food delivery to arrive - which it did at the last possible moment just before noon.

I told Dharma that we would be going out on the bus later since he looked rather sleepy and I wanted him to be prepared and he told me that there would be a bus breakdown, so I decided to wait for a couple of hours and overcome that hurdle; you see I have learned to listen to my dragon and he is never wrong, so I carried on browsing and eventually got ready to leave after 2pm.

Dharma and I had a very pleasant and surprisingly quick journey over to my friends house, stayed a while, played with her cats and then caught the bus home.

I had taken a Dion Fortune book to read but as my bus journeys had been going so well in the lovely sunshine, I just watched as we sped along and enjoyed the scenery.

When we got to Putney Bridge, the bus stopped and waited and eventually, the bus driver asked us to disembark, it seems that the bus was in danger of catching fire and we would have to board the next available one.

OK, I know, I was told.

Dharma is a don?

It is Tuesday 14 June 2005; I am sat here at my desk and feel a migraine coming on. After yesterdays vertigo, I am behind with course studies and it is worrying me, but I sort out my emails, go to Occult Forums and come here to Sacred Magick briefly as the screen is now too bright and I know that the time has come to darken the room and take to my bed.

Dharma is trying to cheer me up, he knows I am unable to study and that I should have covered two sessions by now, so he jumps up and down excitedly and waves a sheet of paper in his hand; on his head is a mortar board with a tassle and I look at him in his great glee and I wonder where he has been; maybe he went to dragonland and learned something. Well, if he did, I am proud, I wonder if it was magick?

It is a day or so later, the food delivery has not arrived and the dryer has broken but I have no vertigo and no migraine, so it is a good day and I go to get the post and in the mail is a certificate; I have passed my Social Sciences module I took last year and have earned myself a CertSocSci(Open) from my university and had forgotten all about it.

A busy buzzy evening

Dharma and I have been having a great summer; we have been to the park a lot and enjoyed the sun and had afternoon tea under the trees and now we are going away for a weekend break.

I am looking forward to going and I have asked my dear one if he wants to come to, I already know he will say yes but I can see him flapping around and he shows me a vision of having to deal with something, but it is minor and I just know that my imagination is running away with me.

We have had a warm and relaxing time sat in sun chairs and we are enjoying our time away but we must prepare supper, so I get that underway and I start to hear buzzing, loud buzzing and I look across to the French doors and see a HUGE bumble bee coming towards me, I run to get a paper to guide it out, but it looks disorientated and keeps flying at me, so I leave the room.

A while later, all is quiet, so I go carefully around the very large kitchen and walk to the conservatory end and look at the dining table and chairs, I check each of them carefully and then I see the bee is sleeping on the edge of one, so I get brave and carefully pick up the chair, but oh no, the bee awakes and starts to buzz loudly around me.

I leave the room again and it goes outside and settle on a sun chair; suddenly I remember Dharma showing me chasing a bumble bee and being unable to get it outside and once again, I wonder how this can be

Dharma is dangerous

The entities that come to help us in our lives do not interfere, that is, they allow us to make our own mistakes unless we ask them for some help.

Dragons are no exception and although Dharma responds to questions, he never interrupts the flow of my life and never tries to stop me from doing anything.

Last month was probably one of the worst months of the year for me; there were problems within the family, many friends and people I knew either had illnesses, accidents or were also dealing with difficult situations in one form or another and my dear dragon seemed unhappy right through the entire month too; he either looked baleful or prowled around scowling (if indeed you could call that look on a dragon a scowl) and became very snappy and snarly.

I didn’t really take a lot of notice of Dharma as I was very wrapped up in dealing with things particularly as I was also dealing with the feelings of family members as well as listening to a friend of mine who was in a lot of turmoil too.

It was only when I got into this month of December and much of the surface tension had subsided that I noticed that Dharma seemed even angrier; now this caught my attention because I would have expected him to be calmer too, but frankly he looked murderous.

Dragons can change shape and size, but my dear one usually stays small indoors since he is often content; last month, saw him consistently standing at my eye level and on consulting another experienced magickian who has a dragon much larger than mine, I did learn that if they are picking up a lot of negativity they may get quite large.

I had to face up to it, that a couple of people that I was calling ‘friend’ or at least had seen as equitable were not any such thing; the better news was that one or two that I thought were just going with the flow have turned out to be blessings in my life.

A friend is unwell

Today was the first day after being away for Christmas that I really felt that I was getting back on top of everything at home. Food had been delivered this morning and the house work done so this afternoon, I settled down to answering emails and catching up on various forums I belong to but knowing that there were places that I was going to have to let go to make room for the new projects.

At about three o’clock this afternoon I wanted to ask a fellow moderator a question, seeing that he appeared not to be online I asked Dharma if I should email him; I could see my friend in my mind’s eye and my dragon started tugging at him which I took to mean that asking the question would provide a positive response so I emailed him and then carried on reading.

A short while later, I decided to check the response and asked my dragon again if I should be asking the question and again Dharma tugged at him; feeling that this was the confirmation I settled down once more.

Another hour passed and I looked at Dharma and he was still tugging at my friend and then I became worried and decided to phone him.

I am so glad I phoned because my dear friend was not well and he was huddled up under blankets so we had a quick chat before I had to go and make supper and just after I put the phone down, Dharma, relieved that I had finally understood him, started showing gentle, caring actions towards my friend.
