I was at a dog show with my friend Travis. We were there watching his dog Yuna. (I dislike dogs, especially this one, so it's not very likely that I'd go to a dog show in real life.) His dog was attempting to do one of those doggy obstical courses. Then she went off course so I went and corrected her. (Which I would never do.) Then she finished and ended up winning. (Which DEFIANTLY would never happen.)
Your friend represents your ego on equal level. But not your higher intellect, not your moral up bringing, not your subconscious, just your plain and simple ego. In this dream its not a major role, just a passive observer. But still a representation of yourself on some level.
The female dog could represent a feminine aspect of yourself that is domminant in your daily life because the characteristics it displays are not common to you. It can also represent a feminine force (perhaps someone you know like a sibling or secret admirer) that you tend to tell what to do (hence your guiding the dog through the course). The fact you dislike dogs probably hints that however this feminine force applies to you, be it from a person you know or aspects within yourself, you find then to be a burden, or annoying. The dog winning the contest shows that it is dependant upon you for success.

Then there was some sort of after party/picnic. There was a girl arguing with some guy who was obviously a shady guy. Then she pulled a knife on him. What happened next was a blur but long story short, the guy left.
Parties tend to represent social functions. The main people you see there are the girl and the guy. They represent an internal conflcit between masculine and feminine qualities of yourself probably related to your social tendencies. ummm please note I'm not talking about homo or heterosexual aspects, but rather your emotional side versus your rational side. Arguement and knife represents the conflict and the shady guy is a masculine aspect within yourself that is not something you are not consciously aware of. It could be a repressed memory, or desire. Whatever it is, it negatively affects your emotional self and its buried in your subconsciousness.

Then, for some reason, the girl had to be taken to the hospital. I took her (For some reason, it seemed like I knew her fairly well, as did the rest of the people.) and when we got there, the doctor put her in a wheel chair and took us to a room. Then I asked him what was wrong and he told me, "She's dreaming." Then I realized that I was too and I told her, "I'm dreaming too" before I woke up.
The girl in your dreams also represents an emotional aspect that is "damaged" or somehow your sub-consciousness thinks it need to be fixed. Thats why you took her to the hospital, you are your conscious self acting on sub-conscious desires, thoughts, memories. The doctor represents the part of your mind who wants to help others, including yourself. You're internal healer if you will. By this doctor telling you this girl is "dreaming" you're really telling yourself on an emotional level that possibly you are unaware of reality or need to wake up. Realizing you're dreaming too, is just that, it happens and is normal.
I highly doubt this girl is someone who is trying to contact your friend. If that were the case they would have focused more on him or spoken his name or somehow tried to indicate they were interested in your friend travis. On that note, maybe keep tabs on your dreams and see if she reappears. Its possible that an entity (of any sort) is trying to communicate with you but cannot .... well find the proper medium to speak other than to show symbolism through dreams.
