On being reccomended Kabbalah magic I have/had taken to the pratices within the book to finally lay to rest my time in 0=0 grade and move on but made the, ''mistake'' of buying the Cieros work and am now daunted in the face of the initiation process... whereas one puts heavy empahasis on physical tools and preperation the other seems to glide over the process so I thought I'd ask peoples opinion on the various techniques in regards to self initiation in a comparision of the two...

Personally prefer the rituals in Kabbalah magic along with much of the guideline involved but self initiating via drawing layouts of the temple and reciting the ritual seems to fall short of the Cieros plugging of a second purchase **cough** / reccomendation that a practicioner prepares space for a FULL temple layout, which is probably just as attractive a process as it is expencive.

Has anyone had an experience with either forms of self initiation?

Kabbalah Magic is far easier and greatly expands on working the grades from a self Initiation perspective. I dont know why I have always felt drawn to GD formula than say Thelemic ritual but hey thats just what worked for me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It sounds like you have made up your mind

.lol. Funnily enough I did just this morning, as Kabbalah magic won appraisal from the Cireos I think I'll stick with it and bounce between the two throughout, the rituals in K.M seem to work better for me as well.

Actually quite excited about moving into the next grade.

(sad huh?) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Ave,

Both books and systems have their virtues. However, I'd suggest trying to do as much of the physical temple work as possible. It's the closest thing to a physical temple initiation, and thus is more likely to be truly transformative. There's nothing like creating and using the tools, too, and the Cicero version is closer than Lyam's to what you'd get in an actual G.'.D.'. temple. However, using both books can "fill the gaps".

LLLSHJ,
Yechidah.

Hmmmm..... have to say that I'm slightly disappointed with the practice so far (K.M), perhaps its personal but I'm beginning to think that the akward instructions given for inkoking and banishing are a, 'blind', the author wouldn't give such instructions and then inform his students to read and research into initiation cerimonies and such without detailing a method to his system in that regard, goes against it all otherwise.

That being said I think K.M is, ''better'' than S.I.G.D overall, its inclusive as in it involves the nessary aspects of Magick rather than give them as arduous tasks seemingly seperate from the rest of the practice, am not a fan of recitive knowledge at all, K.M makes it practical where S.I.G.D, ''fails'' in this regard.

All in all although it seems a bit short winded I think its somewhat undiluted in regards to the aformentioned, its practical application of various aspects of Magick.... a certain, ''heres what to do with this'' runs throughout the text, and its something to appreciate.

Still can't mention how fustrating it is using the invoking style though, perhaps its the Gnomes, have been feeling deviant recently reading up on B.o.L work and Old System Magic .lol.

Ok... I mean its not a, ''blind'' as it its not without purpose, just allow it to get to me a bit .lol. Think it would personally do better pour moi if I used the standard invoking technique rather than the one given but, ''can't'' as I intend to stick to the curriculum.... and of course a person can't compare the two books just wanted to draw comparison.

Peace
