Hello everyone! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Right, I'm Drew and I lurked for a good few weeks before joining, to try to get a feel for the place. I am a total novice as far as magick goes, and am currently doing background reading on the various, erm, magickal styles? Not sure if that's the best way of describing it... (Ceremonial, Wicca, Chaos).

I've come to this point after studying NLP for many years, and some of the people I've studied with over those years have mentioned how they found the rituals of magic to be very helpful. I have no idea (yet) which direction I'm going to take forwards, as it's all still very vague and confusing - though the books I've read on Chaos Magick (Hine and Carroll) have certainly intrigued me.

I guess that'll do as an intro for now. Anything else anybody wants to know, I'm sure will be learnt in time. Looking forwards to being a part of the forums (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Welcome Drew
You don't sound daft at all. NLP as a background might be rather useful here. Have a look around and when you feel comfortable, join in the discussions.

Don't worry. It'll only seem kinky the first time.

Hello Drew. Nice to meet you.
I usually lurk around the forums not posting anything but I thought I would say hi:)

If you have been studying NLP then I think you might find Jason Newcomb's'New Hermetics' quite interesting.
He's incorporated NLP into the practice of magick and modernised it a bit, but I've found this book to be very useful.
It's more ceremonial magick than wicca though.

Hope to see you around:)

Welcome to SMF Drew! If you ever need any advice, be confident that you can message me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I can usually find information on any subject that you need researched. I myself lurk the forums often and I can usually say that you can find mass amounts of information here, more than any other place I look at. You just have to know how to use the search feature (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
