how do you "absorb" energy??, or also take it in from stuff around you Options

i tried visualizing energy coming in to me but im not sure that works, so can anyone tell me if thats how you do it or is there different way???? am i supposed to feel it? how does it feel? what does it feel like??

Crash course in energy manipulation:
One of the key aspects of magick is observation. If you're going to do this with the intentions of becoming good at it you should get a journal to take notes on what you experience. Each time you complete this practice write down what you experience and date it. Do it even if nothing special happens. This way you can look back at what you did previously and change how you do this again to get different results. With honest practice you will enevitably realize you've stumbled onto several techniques to produce a variety of affects. You can then experiment further and apply these affects to specific areas of the body and write down what happens, even if nothing at all happens.

This excsercise is a basic technique. Its meant to get you to realize how to raise energy, percieve it and absorb it. Futher practice and experiments will reveal other techniques. Do this every day at least once a day for at least 15 minutes:

Rub your hands together breathing on them as though you were trying to keep them warm. The friction creates energy - heat. Once your hands are fairly warm make two fists. Clentch your hands together like this for a few moments. Feel the blood as its forcing itself through your hands. Relax as though you were meditating. Hold your hands out. Feel the sensation as the condensation on your hands from your breathe cools them creating a cooling sensation. Feel this and try to replicate this sensation in your fore arms. It requires no force of will. Just maintain a relaxed state of mind while feeling your hands cool down. As your heart beats and your blood flows through your hands picture the heat you generated entering your blood making it warm like your hands. As this warm blood flows it enters your fore arms warming them then your upper arms into your torso. Then to your head and feet until your body is saturated in this energy.

Do this and you have successfully absorbed the energy created by rubbing your hands together into your body. You can expirement with this as you like. Try rubbing your arms or your legs instead. You can work with other sources of energy. Like an ice cube. Or heat source. Get a ballon and try this technique with static. Or running water. If you can find a partner you can experiment with them and try to generate energy and absorb what eachother generates. Sex is actually a great way to raise and absorb energy. Its everywhere and in everything. Everything has energy. Even the time of day can influence you. Anything can produce energy. Eventually with time you can create energy just through using your memory and imagination.

to that you can add gravity, wind, storms, electrical power lines, fuseboxes, wiring and outlets, ley lines and flows, growth of veggie things like grass and trees, and any sort of movement, like a clock

note: drawing energy from any people without their knowledge can lead to vampirism probs for both them and you - stay clear of it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fie.gif) even freely given energy comes with so much baggage i've found it pretty useless unless you're really, really close joined already

draw in too much and you will have bad grounding probs (heart palpitations, fevers, dizzy, etc.) unless you train in grounding too

There are several that I use, but my favorite way to absorb energy is throught my receptive hand by holding it out and tensing it. I then all allow the energy to funnel in almost like a tornado minus the debris and cows. But you have to be sure to call the right energy. I usually just call raw un-assigned energy which appears in a clear fashion to me.

Chaos. That sounds very similar to how I learned to consciously absorb outside energy. The undesirability of psychic vampirism was mentioned and I agree. I don't see why people would want to pull energy out of other people when you are literally surrounded by better energy. The earth, the stars, the sun, plants all contain easily absorbed clean energy. The energy that you would pull out of an average person contains a fair bit of psychic garbage.
Normally I pull in energy with my breath and through my feet. There is some energy absorbed through hands, heart, crown etc, but primarily I pull in earth energy (tuqi/yin) through my feet, and heavenly/sky energy (tienqi/yang) with my breath. This balances the yin and yang as I mix it internally. I circulate it through what is known as the macro-cosmic orbit and this acts to pull it in and mix/ ballance it out.

Goibniu, I like your technique. I also do not personally agree with taking energy from people or a single person.
I generally draw energy from the universe or from an element depending on my intent.
