Okay, this is kind of an odd request, but I was wondering if you guys could toss out some 'threes' at me. Examples: Heaven Earth Hell Sky Land Sea Maiden Mother Crone Past Present Future Get the idea? I'm working on a ritual and I need to incorporate a bunch of these. I'm looking for ones that, altogether, create a balance or connection. Thanks a lot (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

triads are an ancient, some say greco-roman and some say celtic, thing think triangle, like pythagoras, and the three knots in the celtic cross for the greco-romans, the top point of the (right) triangle is held aloft by one leg being the opposite of the other leg, and their differences are reconciled and made productive by the bottom segment - humanly positive and negative legs can hold aloft a top point of balance only as long as they are reconciled by love/heart chakra, otherwise they fall - this is the very basis of the christian religion, christ is the bottom segment, allowing there to be a heavenly top point, and accessible only through him - christ is even called the great reconciler - freaky ain't it - (IMG: style_emoticons/default/i_triangle.gif) - crucifiction killed the bottom segment, but it just goes to heaven cause its the great reconciler, leaving the crossed legs of the humans left behind (IMG: style_emoticons/default/Symbols_1911.gif) - all the lovely astrological triads in the revelation are made possible and reconciled from their looking before/after by the one who is able to open the book, the bottom segment of their triangles - think cup without a bottom as the throne, christ is the bottom of the cup (IMG: style_emoticons/default/roflmao.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wallbash.gif) the celtic idea of the triad is harder to put one's finger on - more like rotating globes than right triangles - if one thinks of the sun, moon and earth as ever-moving globes, one can get the idea, at least imo, of what they were thinking - i am not, nor ever was before, an ancient celt, so it is difficult for me to think like one and gain the insights on their thinking - but i get the feeling it is something like mom, dad, child (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) anyway, that's what i've got on triads

QUOTE(Matthew Kelly @ Aug 11 2008, 11:09 PM) Oooh, I forgot - on the Nine Inch Nails Sin single there's three remixes of "Sin", too, and three remixes of "Down In It" on the Down In It single. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) let me guess, one is one way, the other another, and the last (the reconciler) is maybe a mixture or the two? it's a popular obscure theme/mythos - there's even a ps2 video game like that i played once, it sucked, bad graphics and awful design, some assassain something

it's a popular obscure theme/mythos - there's even a ps2 video game like that i played once, it sucked, bad graphics and awful design, some assassain something Hm, that seems more true with the two remixes of "Terrible Lie" from that era, the themes behind the remixes of "Down In It" and "Sin" seem to be highlighting certain elements of the song at different times, for example one "Sin" mix is a dub version with extended sections containing the main theme and variations with alot of additional drum programming. It introduces new textures and sonic possibilities that were only hinted at in the album version. So... I don't know.
