My Controls~ Options

Referred here by one of your (many) respected members, I recently had my account 'validated' so that i could have better control around the forum.
I can now access My Controls and view other members' accounts and so forth.
However, there are many buttons/options within My Controls that I cannot use.
For instance, the PM system can't be used and I could only view my recent PM via the My Assistant button near the top right of the screen. Even then, there were some limitations on what I could and could not click.
I continuously receive Board Messages saying that an 'error' has occurred and that I am not able to use that particular feature.

I'm pondering whether this has anything to do with the fact that I have yet to make a post...... we'll see~~~

It should not be long before I make my first formal post on an occult or spiritual topic of interest to me~~
My only hindrance of posting now is personal belief that I must gain more knowledge in this area~~at least enough to interact with the regulars on a slightly more than superficial level~~

For now, please help me with my problem of not being able to use/access certain features.

You will be unable to access the PM feature of the Forum until you post more in the Forum. This is to cut down on SPAMmers and those who choose to run only on the PM system. We are a Discussion Forum and would like for the members to interact in a more practical and public way. LOL! Secrecy is fine but it hampers the free-exchange of ideas that keep this place going. We are more than happy to assist you in your workings around the Forum. Our Moderators are very helpful and the membership are very good with the exchange of information. Please be sure to read the Forum Guidelines, etc. By taking the time to familiarize yourself with the various threads/topics you will discover many facets of the board. Under each topic there is a button labeled 'options'. Please utilize the 'track this topic' or 'subscribe to this topic' in order to get notification by email of how a thread is going. Do not tamper with the other settings (I'm not sure that you can,...but to be on the safe side...) Error messages occur, some due to glitches, most due to operator error. Could you be more specific?

For now, please help me with my problem of not being able to use/access certain features.

So I simply need to post more on the forum(meaningful posts~) and I'll be able to gain more control~

With the rep system, this will also become available once i post more?
One more thing, I'm currently an "Initiate". After how many posts will I become a "Neophyte"? Then how many to "Zelator"? Then to my 'Custom' Title? (I have tried searching for a 'ranking' thread on the forum, but had no luck~)
On a side note~~ Once i become a Neophyte, will a "Member" icon appear underneath my Title, instead of just a yellow blob?

I do apologize for asking trivial questions~~ However, once I get the hang of things around here, I'll be sure to live up to the reputation my username suggests~~ *smirks with a strange seriousness~*

Yes...but be forewarned, we are in the midst of changing our format and the member rating system may be deleted or changed. *sigh* (I'm not always comfortable with change...but it comes anyway...)

You know....it's been soooo long since I went through this... but, if truth be told, noone really cares about the ranking system. We have members who post so infrequently that they are still listed as 'Initiate' and , in reality, are extremely competant mages and occultists, of all ages. 30 post count will allow you access into the Neophyte area and the ability to occasional 'spell-beg'. (btw, the Guidelines are located on the main page in the upper left quadrant of the screen.) You must post three relevant posts in order to get the PM function turned on. Never hesitate to ask questions from the staff if you're feeling flummoxed about something. When you gain PM use, this will speed up responses and save you from asking potentially embarrasing questions in public. The new format will have a chat feature and a friend network (or so I'm told...we'll see). Good luck and good journey! I look forward to reading your posts! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
