My Own Philosophy Of Sorcery Options

i dont claim to know much hence i put this topic in here. i'm open to all views but my own thoughts on the sorcery aspect of "magick" happened as observation. close minut observation that went from the land of the physical and impossibility to the astral and possible.

a man sits on a tree. he looks at the clouds and ? how the clouds are formed. he looks closer and starts to perceive a flight of fancy. with no one to tell him he is wrong he goes full off into this process until he forms his own beliefs of "rationality" which turn into blind faith. he tries it out sees it doesn't exactly work but because it's blind faith with no objection he continues to pursue until he can make it work. eventually he finds a way to make the impossible possible. he creates clouds out of his breath which he formed by inhaling in a certain way and visualizing his core cooling down thus regulating his body temp. at an alarming rate to a cooler function that allowed for him to breath out "clouds" lol

stuff like this is what i think started sorcery and the concept of magick. though still a fascinating feat. it's not as hardcore impressive in today's age as say back when it was never even conceived and thus a LOT more awe inspiring. which brings up what happened to the innocence we once possessed as a people that made us believe in the impossible because it's obvious we still don't really know anything. science has denied us our mysticism and the funny thing is that mysticism CREATED science and physics lol

Yeah, I may have only a vague idea of how magick got started but today every person's journey begins from that - feeling rather than blindly following. If there is no one to tell you there's nothing mystical, magical and, generally, nothing special in this world - or if you've never taken those 'unaware' people seriously - the faith that you've had since you were a child remains, which is the very the root (or the basis) of every magical action. If the root is removed, you doubt. Post like 'is magick real' or ' I need a hard proof' appear on occult forums.

Well, I'm not an expert but I'm not so sure. I mean, you're mostly right, but I would not call it mysticism that created today's science. I'd prefer: this what we call occult (today) created what we call science (today). For instance, you don't need to be a mystic to practice astrology - AND BESIDES astrology was in fact considered a science just as mathematics or medicine was. So, some roots of today's science were science as well in the past. So 'science' is just a word and just like every other word the definition changes over centuries. I believe today's occultism is as developed as, say, medicine in the Renaissance or a bit later. It's still in the early phase of development. Medicine earlier, in the Middle Ages, was often very much like folk magic + a lot of misconceptions etc. and today's it's science. Probably occult will eventually become a kind of science, but it still needs a lot of work.. OUR work. Thanks to technology it's so easy to communicate, download hundreds of occult books, grimoirs, exchange opinions, seek a suitable path... Modern magician's knowledge and abilities can surpass those of a Medieval mage...
And, who knows, maybe there will be an invention that will boost the development of that branch of science... just what the microscope did for the medicine or the telescope for the astronomy..?
