Although this goes for everybody, the more mature people here might relate to it more.

The thing is, during my life, I've gained certain powers, and developed certain techniques, both through pure personal experience and developing traditional techniques, to the point they are potent; i.e. have bulldozer strength, and some of my negative magick is, for want of a better word, deadly. I mean, irredeemably deadly.

I've begun to consider the fact, as I grow older, that this subtle and effective knowledge will pass away from this world when I move on. [i.e. die!] I think what I've discovered is too valuable to be lost. Yet conversely, there are some things I'm not prepared to just throw out in public, because they are either private and sacred, or simply too dangerous. It's not purely "spells" and rituals I'm talking about; its the knowledge and techniques of how to USE them effectively; certain keys are often left out of well-known techniques in the public domain, and I've tried and tested many things and learned to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Do you plan to pass on your knowledge to a younger one before you die?
It was and in some societies still is, a tradition for an occultist to do so, we all know the stories of it.
The thing is, I think I'm going to find it difficult to find a person who is at once interested enough, intelligent enough, mature enough and also has the innate skill and flair it will take, to utilise my knowledge and discoveries both effectively and with good judgement. Classic scenario of the Sorcerer's Apprentice comes to mind!

Have you thought about this in your own case, and how do you feel, and what are your plans about it?

Why not just keep a personal journal and never share it with anyone unless you meet someone worthy? When time comes it'll be easy
to just hand the book (or copy of it) to your apprentice.

I haven't forgotten the fact that we all die either and have therefore thought about the destiny of my own hand written journals
and spirit books. Others wouldn't benefit from reading any of them (they'd probably just disregard it all as nonsense), so I guess I'll just bury
everything when I feel my time is gonna be up.

A will would be useful in case of unexpected death, though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif)

I keep a plain journal, one I call "The Book of Wisdom." Whenever I get a stroke of "AHA!" I go straight to the journal and write whatever wisdom strikes me at the moment so that I can always refer back to it.

Someday, when I have a good job and maybe a family, I will pass on my teachings and my techniques to my children. Perhaps start a family-line school of occult method.

Don't worry about your knowledge. If it was meant to pass on, it will. If you truly wish, for the better of the world, your message be passed on, then your chance will come.
If it was not meant to be, then It will be wiped clean. How do YOU feel? Do you wish your knowledge to carry on? Or is it too dangerous? With clear conscience, make your stand on how you feel about it, and your wish will come true. You are like -us- after all, and our wishes were meant to come true one way or another.
