 What is scrying?

I've practiced tarot with Crowley's Thoth, Brian's Fairies' Oracle deck. I'm interested in scrying...

What is it, how's it work, what should i do to get ready for it/practice it, etc. etc.

You need not buy any expensive stuff, just a dark bowl filled with water will suffice. A television screen tuned to static can also be used to scry. Anything upon which you can focus the sight, and yet does not produce a definate image can be used. The scrying device acts as an aid to concentration.

Basic technique is to stare at the surface and clear the conscious mind, then let the images show themselves to you on the suface of the device (be that water, mirror, tv etc).

Kinjo, is trianing myself to be able to see that stuff almost immediately a way to train myself to scry? or is it just something? Cuz either way i love those things!

Alright... so it's gazing at something that wont reflect exact objects, clearing your mind, and then seeing images? Or is that over simplified?

My best scrying has been done early in the morning into my first cup of coffee... Before Im totally awake to remeber all the shit, My mind is hazy and far away from myself and what I know to be my normal life, Before I am Amanda. That is when the clearest images come... Just in my own cup of coffee as I stare into it.

I would assume while you're putting in the cream and it's all swirling? Maybe not. Just black I guess with bad reflections would work...
