Sometime ago I found a medallion in my yard and I am trying to find some information about it!!! If someone could help I would greatly appreciate it!!! I found a picture of it in the Sacred Magick website at the URL below but have been unable to get any information about what it is or represents. There are five talismans at the top of the webpage about Talismans, most concerning Solomon. Some of the lettering I do believe is Angelic Script, but am not absolutely sure. It is the picture on the bottom left hand corner. I put a copy of it here in my post.

Thank You for your time and info!!!!!

Very cool talisman, though I have no idea what it means. Be curious to find out, though. I know I've seen some of the symbols on it before but I can't remember where. Anyway, here's an idea: If you have anything that dowloads documents, like limewire, you should look up the dictionary of occult hermetic and alchemical sigils. It has information on a huge amount of symbols and you might find something there. Good luck:)

Geeetings'Rust1d,

It looks more like one of the runic alphabets like passing of the river to me.

Interesting that it is in segments of 8.

8 cardinal directions.

8 quarters of the year?

It looks more Wiccan than angelic to me.

I could be wrong though.

Lets wait and see I am sure someone on this forum will recognize the alphabet. '

Peace!

Greeting,

Spent some time going over Liber 777 and a few other texts as well as www.symbols.com (vary useful) and have identified a little over half of the symbols and two of the words getting impressions of it being Wiccan. Cannot identify some of the inner symbols, this would have me believe that their personal or otherwise related to a personal system. The words are English translations of Hebrew numbers and letters, yet to make out what they mean. I will keep working to see if I can find out more.

Here is the symbols I deciphered thus far.

very interesting

an exact picture of the talisman you found? what document is it from? that could be a huge freaking clue

was it made or drawn or just printed out?

if its solmonic it won't be wiccan, nor vise versa, and a wiccan wouldn't probably bother with a angelic seal or whatever anyway

and eight is really big with solomon - from the name solomon being given to a group of islands cause there were eight of them, to the eight sections of the song of solomon, to the seal of solomon (unicursoral double-square)

can't you just see the sh*t hisself mental state of the person that lost it?

or was it deliberately placed in your yard?

Greetings fatherjhon,

Good work! Which Wiccan alphabet is on the outer?

I would think that the inner 8 symbols are spirits. Agreed?

Peace!

Yes,with the exception of the symbols labeled "HOYI" & "EIOAW"- which are Runic in origin; I believe they represent spirits. The symbol labeled "HWEOI" might be an angle; I have seen it before but cannot find it. [Looking in the Key of Solomon at the moment.]

As to the alphabet used, I have identified letters and numerals corresponding to the following languages:

CELESTIAL ALPHABET [substitution]
MALACHUM WRITING
THEBAN ALPHABET [substitution]
NAGARI NUMERALS
SANSKRIT NUMBERS

I am still working on the translations. It is easer than I thought it would be; substitution of letters, as apposed to using the language- e.g. grammar, syntax, and spelling. But the necessity of using five reference texts is complicating matters.

I'm becoming more sure the Hebrew is not words but numbers, because it turns to gibberish- when the English is converted to Hebrew. Now I need to brush up on my Hebrew arithmetic… fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Given the Jupiter and the correspondence to success, power, illumination and Neptune- who rules liberation, Victory- are placed before the lessened aspects of Pisces (secrets, and institutions) the purpose appears to be related to over coming one of these two. The symbol for disordered intellect or confused mental state would imply the former. Pisces is in the 12th house, which only further confirms this theory; because it is the last house (where all that came before is tallied, where one leaves for new beginnings) and its connection with the subconscious.

Up dates when I have them.

Cheery-Bye

Hello, thank you very much for your research and your help! I am most greatful! Would anyone know who to contact concerning who put the picture of the talisman in the Sacred Magick site initially! I was hoping that they might know why they associated it with the Solomon Talismans.....

Thanks, Rust1d

I would have to agree with fatherjohn.

I studied Hebrew for a while, and was
an acquaitance of a Kabbahlist, and this
definitely looks like either Kabbalism or
some Hebrew mysticism. There are so
many sects, and you may want to look into
sects that involve King Solomon.

Why I deduce this, is because of the letters
YHEW and also EIAOW

That particular circle may be the names or
characteristics of "God"

It also seems to be a mix of other things, which
could mean the talisman is written in several
languages (i.e. the inference to runic script).

It appears magickal, at any rate, and would definitely
be interested to find out/hearing follow up on this.

Happy hunting!

Melanie

This is part of Antikes Zaubergerät aus Pergamon collection. These objects should be located somewhere in a museum in Berlin. The collection consists from ten objects : a bronze triangle with a prop in the middle on which a circular disc is laid, two bronze rectangular plates, a bronze round disk (the talisman of the picture), a bronze nail, two bronze rings, and three black, flatly polished stones, all covered in inscriptions and magic symbols. One ring and a plate were lost before reaching Berlin, but their descriptions exist anyway. The findings which came to light in Pergamon at excavation that took part somewhere in the end of 19th century, comes from the first half of the 3rd century A.D. The objects have been used by a cult of goddess Hecate.
These objects are described in “Antikes Zaubergerät aus Pergamon” by Richard Wünsch, Berlin 1905. (It is in German language).
