hey! thaanks for at least looking at my topic and if u reply many blessings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
anyways i am trying to find somekind of interpretation of a dream that i have had, and coincedentally it happened a lil while after i started to study the necronomicon, here is the dream.
I am with a guy, i dont remember who, but it seems like i am familiar with him in my dream though i dont knoe him in physicall reallity, also he leads me to the ocean. a very dark and calming ocean, that seems to reflect the sky and stars even though the waves are coming and going.
its always nite (i have had it a few times)
and i am told to look for someone, idk who but again seems that i am familiar with the person im looking for. lol
anyways i dive into the ocean and swim down, and i eventually hit the seafloor and i sea a cave, i enter and the water seems to end a short while ahead of the entrance. but its always gaurded by this huge shark. and after fleeing frm it ( lol i cant fight it) i end up making it into the cave. once i enter i walk for awhile and enter a fork in the path. (but the path isnt left or rite but up and down.) the top path seering with fire and lave like ground and the bottom ice everywhere and cold hard ground. this is where my dream ends as i can never decide where to go. lol

so................... any suggestions? interpretations? anything please and thx again.

mm, 'chief

from my whacked twilight path, but possibly worthwhile information...

the dark and silent ocean would be peace (shanti), but with peace there comes disquieting thoughts like the quest and the shark, then choices, always choices, and each choice comes with its own set of dangerous terrain - it would be stupid to plow straight on into each choice (path) to investigate it without thinking it through - as for the up and down paths, heaven or hell perhaps? - our forcibly indoctrinated judeo-christian sillyness pops up everywhere, even in terms of ascension as going 'up to heaven' - choose and perish (your ego will scream and wither once you meet things bigger and older than yourself or even humanity), so expect it, and develop a strong self-image (knowledge of your true self, not your ego) so things that eat the self will only find a rocky core that can't be eaten

enjoy,

es

Esoterica, I always enjoy reading your comments. This is especially wonderful advice in general, and so beautifully said.

Apollo: I think Esoterica's right. That's because I strongly suspect that the "person" you somehow know, yet don't know, and are desperately trying to find IS your true self.

The shark may represent initial fear, or the first sea-demon living in the depths of your subconscious.

Traveling through either lava or ice would appear to end in destruction, yet there may be a part of you that remains: make the decision boldly!

“We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special."

First off please cut the halo picture you have in your signature by at least half - something 1/3 that size is about the max we allow. There's nothing wrong with it, its just HUGE and difficult to load if people don't have high speed internet or are on dial up.

As to you dream:

Some of what I say will definately over lap with what es told you. She is very good at articulating things in a way that are very meaningful and metaphorical. But I'll still give you my take on it as well. And its the long version too so bare with me!

QUOTE

Your recent study into the necronomicon may have opened a part of your psyche that has been repressed for sometime. This indicated by the man you meet who seems familiar but you cannot recognize him. He represents an aspect of yourself. An archtype of something that is within you that you may have been ignoring or have otherwised repressed. It could be that you are comming of age and you are just now starting to figure yourself out and this figure in your dreams may be something that you are actually becomming or heading towards becoming. So it may even be a future version of yourself. But it could just as easily relate to the past as well. It really depends on how you personally interpret it. If it feels like something from your past then that is where you should start. If it seems like its something more in the present then that's what you go with and so on if you feel its related to your future.

QUOTE
also he leads me to the ocean. a very dark and calming ocean, that seems to reflect the sky and stars even though the waves are coming and going.

The man is taking you to a place deep within your subconsciousness. Oceans are usually associated with your emotional state of mind. Violent and angry oceans represent
chaos and disorder as well as anger, pain and suffering. Calm seemingly tranquil oceans represent just the opposite. So this man is taking you to a place in your mind that represents a calm and serene sense of well being - on the surface.

QUOTE
and i am told to look for someone, idk who but again seems that i am familiar with the person im looking for

The man is asking you to search your feelings. To look for an important aspect within yourself that maybe you have forgotten or feel you should avoid. Again, the person you are looking for is really just yourself, rather a part of your self that is.

QUOTE
anyways i dive into the ocean and swim down, and i eventually hit the seafloor and i sea a cave, i enter and the water seems to end a short while ahead of the entrance.

If the ocean does represent the state of your emotions on the surface by diving into it you are looking inward in yourself and are exploring your emotions beyond the surface beyond what maybe is what you normally feel or the emotions you show others.

Caves generally are taken to be akin to the womb. So by going into the cave you are exploring a feminine part of your psyche (everybody has both masculine and feminine characteristics). The feminine aspect this may represent is also emotional. That's one way to look at it.

Personally I don't think that a cave has to represent just a womb. In my opinion a cave can just as easily represent a doorway or gate either of which more relates to a state of transition. I still think that this transition is on an emotional level though. But you are now transitioning from one emotional state to another.

And yet a third way to look at the cave is that it represents a part of your sexuality. Caves, especially sea caves can relate to the vulva of the female genitals. Fortunately I don't like to go into exploring other people's sexuality - that's for you to figure out. But it is another angle to look at this dream. Maybe ask yourself how the kinds of things you desire romantically, intimately and physically could relate metaphorically to your dream.

QUOTE
but its always gaurded by this huge shark. and after fleeing frm it ( lol i cant fight it) i end up making it into the cave.

The shark is a terrifying construct made by your subconsciousness. Its purpose is to actually protect you emotionally. Its there as a safe guard to keep you from feeling the emotions that lay within the cave. That suggests that the emotions in the cave are not something you would normally want to feel. But it doesn't necessarily imply that they are bad. Although the emotions in the cave may represent anger or hate or saddness they could just as easily relate to love, joy and passion. You fled from the shark because a) its terrfying and b) that's what it is there for - to chase you away and keep you from exploring your emotions and potentially find something that you do not like. But you make it to the cave anyway. This implies that what is in the cave is something you need to know about. Its something that is important for you to find out and understand.

QUOTE

Ascention and descention have pretty important meanings. In terms of going up (ascending) in dreams it can often relate to assention or over coming or finding good things. Descending (going down) is just the opposite. It relates to dissention or feelings that are not pleasant. Negative attitudes, negative or overly critical thinking of the self is what dissent means within dreams.

So by being presented this fork in the road in this cave that may relate to your emotions or personal sexuality (or both for that matter) your brain is basically telling you do you want the good news or the bad news? Now all you have to do is decide which path you want to take. True dream interpretations come down to the impressions of the dreamer him or her self. But my opinion is that the path up - the one that is firey will relate to feelings of passion, intensity, creativity, power perhaps even domination. The path down will show you stagnation a place of ice where maybe you feel depressed, in a rut and alone.

Knowing all this now its really up to you to put it all together the way you think it should be. Regardless of how you personally interpret your dream I think it is important for you to be open towards exploring both paths of this cave. By doing so you may discover why you feel certain things at certain times and whether or not the feelings are rational or irrational. Furthermore by understanding your emotions it'll help you to control them even stop feeling the ones that maybe not so pleasant.

in my opinion, the ocean represents your sexual desire. the waves are the coming and going of various people who you think of that way. but you have to get beyond all of it to reach the person you're really looking for in life. the shark must be doubt or some other emotion/idea that might keep you from this person. the fork in the path would be staying with the person and having your life forged together with them and possibly getting burnt in the process if things go poorly, or dropping out of their life and possibly being left in the cold for a while. i assume the familiar person who tells you to look for this person would be yourself, inner-self, or a spirit guide. the fact it was night just shows that there is no light to guide you in this. and i don't think the necronomicon thing has anything to do with it unless like the other guy said, it opened you up to this sort of thing. well that's how i would interpret it for myself anyway. good luck figuring it out for sure.
