hmmm...ok kath! - i'd love to know, you've got my curiosity aroused?
i went to town yesterday and found it - and it turns out to be the farmer's market!
difficult to see it from the ground as there are small hills, and the design is just gravel paths as far as i can tell from the road
if the trees are there as they seem to be in the picture, does that makes it an ashera? - as in a holy grove, in this case for the earth mother, astarte (ashera, the consort of yaweh), inanna (queen of heaven and earth), hathor or mary as the moon treading the milky way, etc, etc
i don't have any tapes for the hd video camera, so that will have to wait until i get some money
i may do a quickie low-res sortie with the regular digital camera just to get the feel of the place and see if it really is a moon-door
damn thing is right across from the police station lol, so no midnight sorties
we know the area is of german origin (many german names), and still is very agrarian, with the original colonists of the area being outcasts for witchcraft or amazonism or lesbianism (which is why there are so many here) - the original settlers colonizing an area that was disdained and avoided by the other colonists headed here, and one that has turned out to be the most productive (hmmm...)
google earth is very interesting!
edit: the brown-roofed building across the street is the festhall platz - the covered portion of the farmer's market
