Fulfillment is something we are all looking for. When people are fulfilled they are content. When people are unfulfilled their desires are multiplied and happiness eludes them. Where do we find fulfillment? In what do we find fulfillment? Where do we look? I think the best place to start is close to home, close to heart, with something small. Look within and ask yourself what truly makes you happy. Fulfillment begins within and blossoms outward. Do not chase the illusions upon the horizon. Eternities of happiness begin with an open honest inquiry into your own nature. The farther you seek is only that much farther you have moved away from it. People need to have a purpose in life, a task to do, a reason for being. When people lack education, employment, and opportunity to benefit and improve not just their selves but all mankind the result is unhappiness, bitterness, and discontent. These provide fertile ground for the growth of a degenerate cycle of criminality, savagery, and humanity’s fall from grace. Civilization must counter this by fulfilling people’s needs, lessening their wants, tempering their desires. The excesses of society can only be regulated by the temperance of each individual. The responsibility lies with civilization to provide a place where such temperance can be cultivated. If civilization cannot provide such a place it should not be called civilization. The problem for civilization is there are still deserts of ignorance in the world, some within civilization itself, where the rains of enlightenment do not fall. There is no fulfillment if someone does not know the nature of their own being. When there is no looking deeply there is no peace. Most people do not even know why they are so dissatisfied or what they are looking for. The reason for this is they have no one to point the way, no one to show them that fulfillment comes only with the blossoming of each individual’s collective humanity. There is a divine union when people are embodying the highest virtues of humanity. When people manifest compassion, joy, and peace they are manifesting the same all pervasive compassion, joy, and peace. They share an immersion in a universal attribute of what some might call God. Any society must be a place of growth not repression, for fulfillment comes only through growing and only through growing is there the blossoming of being. Society must be a school where every individual can learn to harness the excesses of the more savage aspects of their human nature into a productive focus for the ascension of all humanity. Society must fulfill the needs people do not even realize they have. Knowledge is the antidote to the ills of society, not conventional knowledge but rather a self knowledge which cannot be known or taught, only realized. When people drop ego, end false persona, and realize what they are there is no contention, no division, and no other. High and low still have their places but high is not greater nor is low lesser. Fulfillment comes with the fruition of becoming what we are for often that is not what we are being. But this fruit only comes if the seed is watered, the tree tended, the soil deep. The world must be this deep soil, society must create gardens upon it, individuals must cultivate the fruit of their being within them. Every individual must move toward union with the world around them or face the insatiable hunger of existential void and eternal separation. But before the search can begin you must first find what it is you are seeking. If you do not know what you seek how will you know where to look? Society must provide guides and point people at self investigation. That will lead them to seek the search that finds. Ask yourself, who am I? What am I? Where am I going? What do I really want in my life? How will I feel when this journey is at its end? These are questions to ask more important than the answers you create for them. These questions do not end with answers but with an ever deeper questioning and a falling away of many of the superficial answers we once clung to. Without the pressure of grasping at the illusions you create of yourself you can find a great peace and an open space to grow in. When you find great peace you find you no longer desire great things. When you can find fulfillment in the smallest of things you shall never find yourself wanting. Where do we find fulfillment? First we must figure out what we are really looking for and that comes only through honest self inquiry. With the blossoming of our being we can find peace within ourselves and when we find peace within ourselves it begins to be reflected by the world around us. When peace is reflected by the world around us others find their selves reflecting that peace back again. There is nothing humanity at peace and united in a common vision cannot accomplish. Many believe in the limits imposed upon human potential yet the true human destiny is in becoming what we cannot be and growing into what we do not know.
