I just woke up a few hours ago from a dream that keeps happening, before I go into it I'll give a little background.

Growing up I had several oral surgeries done, my parents must have paid a fortune for me to have "Perfect" teeth. I had a root canal done on one of my front teeth at 16 all of my wisdom teeth removed after I had my braces removed at 14, permanaent retainers cemented in from 14 till I was 21, braces from 11 to 14, and headgear from 10 to 14. Not to include two yearly checkups every year since I cut my first tooth.

Now for the dream...

Its always a little different but gets worse everytime. It scares the devil right out of me because it gets more real each time (this time I thought it was real untill I woke up) I had woken up in the dream and somehow in the night I bit down hard enough on my teeth that they all began to break up and loosen from their sockets. I bent forward feeling something in my mouth and spit my teeth, peices of my teeth and blood into my hands... Horrified I woke Antony up and told him "I need to go to the hospital" he refused saying everything was ok... I was horrified and traumatized holding my teeth, looking in the mirror at myself I had some parts of my teeth still in my mouth others were completely gone but my back teeth remained whole and intact inside my mouth molars, and the ones in front of the molars in all 4 quadrents were fine. An old friend of mine came by the house and we were taliking and I was still very upset and told her to leave. Then I woke up.

I've had this same teeth losing falling apart dream in the past but in differnt situations... one in school, others when I was in my parents home... but usually one or two or three teeth not 20... and never as real as this one seemed. Anyone have an explination?

Dental anxiety?

Happens a lot. People who've had a lot of operations of a specific type, or a lot of illnesses of a specific type - anything that can cause some sort of anxiety - tend to have dreams featuring them going wrong.

What's your personal experience with dentists and your teeth? Did you like going to the dentist? Did your parents ever get you worried about not going to the dentist?

The value of an individual is not numerically assignable. Given the individual's infinite capacity to affect change (for better or for worse), it follows that their value is just as infinite. Logically then, not only are all individuals of equal value, but all possible combinations and groupings of individuals are of equal value, and finally, no matter an individual's past actions, their capacity to affect positive change is not diminished.

The value of the individual is sacrosanct, but actions must be directed in an effort to affect positive change.

I am scared of anything happening to my teeth due to all the work I had done on them... but I feel it had more to it that what it may seem... Its an insecurity/Security issue involving antony I think... because of his involvement in the dream. Anywho... I dont know Im in a mood today best if I just jump off of here before I get comfonting or something.....

Dreams with teeth falling out (similiar?) is a recuring thing for me ...

Crappy dream books don't help and I learnt to sense what was around me. I think teeth falling out dreams are to do with fear or worry or concern ...

I'd always wake in the night convinced my teeth had come out because in a dream they had fallen out. Very real dreams. Many during the teenage years when I was beaten up by bullies and by teachers and by the ....

I had a few nights a number of years ago they happened again and it was when I was going to bed filled with dread for the next day

Duno if it helps you but it is a thought (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fie.gif)

Proud to be what I am ... a perfect and beautiful expression of what is me.

I am who I am and proud to let all see me as I am ... can you say the same?

Why be embarassed with form. It is your unique signature ... I'm not

I used to have dreams like what you describe as well. Generally the dreams I had involved my teeth basically crumbling out of my mouth.
Keep in mind this is my own personal experience, but looking back upon them (the dreams no longer happen), I wish I would have paid more attention. I say that because one day one of my teeth actually did start to crumble (started chipping and eventually broke in half), and I ended up having to get a crown in its place which cost me a fortune and I still have trouble with to this day.

In my opinion you would do well to heed these dreams... as in, make sure to brush after every meal for two minutes, use mouthwash, floss every day, etc. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blablabla.gif)

I am not saying that what happened to me will happen to you, but I think exceptional oral hygiene might help you feel better about your teeth anyway, and possibly lessen the dreams a little.

Best wishes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
