I was always very close to my grandmother. I have always felt that I am more similar to her, than I am than to my mother. It wasn't until I was 12 that I began to have horrible dreams of her death. Sometimes the dreams would be the same, sometimes they would be different, but all of them led them to me, finding her dead.

I know the mind is a powerful thing and can surprise you when you least expect it to, but, I wonder if any reoccuring dreams (or aspects in your dream that reoccur) have any significance in this plane or others?
Or if they are simply constructs of strong emotions? For instance, because I was always very close to my grandmother, I regarded my dreams as a fear of separation-or knowledge that death would be inevitable-which in turn, caused me fear.

I have studied dreams a trifle bit, but I have been taught that dreams are only created through our unconscious mind. Therefore, the only meaning a dream has, exclusively deals with the person dreaming it.

Thoughts / views / personal experiences?

Reocurring dreams in my opinion are there for a reason.
They can be the product of a wish you're having all day.Like your love lives abroad, and you keep dreaming of his return.

Or they can be there to accentuate on something important.
I can see that in your dream and the way you react to it , it shows that you really love your grandmother and can't stand the idea of her passing away. It's one of your fears.
IMO the dream is there to tell you that one day she will pass away (like very human) and you have to accept that.

Well yes and no. Dreams are shown in a way so you can comprehend them. With symbols that are meaningful to you.
They come from your unconscious.
Speaking from personal experience,
most of the times they're just lessons and tips for your self growth , they show your weaknesses, your strength, what you truly need, what you truly reject...
They can be divinatory (I'm not sure if the word even exist hehe)at times, like you see that X actions will lead to Y events, and it's not necessary related to you. Some people might dream of wars (I once dreamed of one, the imagery was really strong and I didn't give attention to it, but after some months a war was declared and when I was reviewing my dreams , I clearly saw the symbols)
